The clinic was contacted today to see if anyone in the Saber community was missing a this little lady.
We checked the microchip and she is not in our system.
She was found on December 26th at around 0030 near Badem by Polizei.
She appears to be rather young and has a light blue collar.

Polizei currently holds her at their station in Bitburg, so the owner can call them at:

✈️PCS-ing in September, October, or November?
Please note that MAJ Silvers will be on TDY September, October, and November 2022. We will have limited coverage from other veterinarians during this time, so please plan accordingly.
What your pet needs:
Vaccine: Rabies is the only vaccines needed for most locations, but the other vaccines are needed for TLF, Pet Lodge, or location dependent.
Rabies certificate: This would have been given when your pet received their Rabies vaccine. If you have misplaced it, please contact the clinic prior to Aug 29nd so we can provide you with a new copy. Please note certificates must be signed in BLUE INK to be classed as “official”. You might also have a one from the states that is still in date. If vaccines were done off base you might have an EU Pet Passport or the yellow vaccine book. These work as proof of Rabies as long as the issuing veterinarian has signed the vaccine.
Health Certificate – This can be done on or off base, and must be done within 10 days of the flight. We recommend doing the Health Certificate about 2-3 days prior to flight, this way if your flight gets changed you still have time left on the Health Certificate.
If you are traveling to Japan, Korea, Hawaii or Guam additional paperwork and bloodwork is needed.
As soon as you have your PCS information reach out to the clinic so we can help you.

May's schedule 🐕‍🐈

Saber Pet Family,

It’s that time again when PCS, travel season and unexpected TDY’s are upon us! Please make sure you have all your pets’ documents in order and in a safe place.
As soon as you receive word that you might be moving or heading out on a TDY contact us, don’t wait to receive orders! Look in to the pet import requirements right away!
Check out the following website for travel advice: https://www.aphis.usda.gov/aphis/pet-travel.

What you need in order to leave Germany and go to the US:
A wellness travel exam performed by a Military vet or a German State vet
Vaccines – Make sure your pet is up to date on Rabies vaccine. We recommend keeping your pets current on all vaccines.
Health Certificate signed by a German State vet or a Military vet
Acclamation letter for airlines

Rabies vaccine information:
If the rabies vaccine was done at our location or another military facility please reach out to us so we can print you 2 signed copies. You will need this if you go to an off-base to a German clinic.
If the Rabies vaccine was done in the US, make sure you have the original document in a safe location. This document will have the veterinarian’s signature in blue ink and would have been part of the Health Certificate package you had to enter Germany. You will need to bring this document with you to the Health Certificate appointment and entry back in to the US.
If the Rabies was done by an EU veterinarian, then the vaccine information will be in a yellow pet book or a blue EU passport. Again make sure this book is in a safe place as it will be part of the Health Certificate paperwork and will be needed at the appointment and entry to the US.
Valid Microchip: must be 15 digit ISO microchip

Health Certificate Appointment:
The health Certificate can be done on base or by an off-base facility. (we are waiting to hear back from the German State vet regarding locations)
Acclimation letter (An acclimation letter indicates the appropriate range of travel temperature)
The Health and Acclimation Certificates must be signed by a licensed veterinarian within 10 days of the animal’s travel date.
*You must bring your pet to the Health Certificate appointment.

Airlines:
Always check with the airline regarding their requirements, each one can be different.

TDY: (single owners or dual military)
If you are a single person or dual military with a pet, please make sure you have a Power of Attorney or a Pet Guardianship on file so this is easily accessible. This gives permission and peace of mind that someone can make sure your pet is taken care of.
Remember if you have any questions or concerns please reach out to the clinic.
