We have got this from Edward Busuttil, DVM : "The book Equine Myofascial Kinetic Lines is extremely detailed and well written with each myofascial line independently reviewed in terms of anatomy, function, dysfunction, testing and treatment. The treatment points are well described and therefore easy to find, and the testing for each line is clear, aided by the QR-codes at the back of the book which take you to a video which shows you how to perform the specific sway test. As a holistic practitioner, I have found that owners find the treatment of myofascial lines extremely engaging, as there is an immediate response to treatment in terms of 'release' and performance.
hi! I have finished reading the book and will work on some flow chart to remember all the tests, but wow, I use a 3b laser pen on the points and have tested the lines which i had gone through over the course of the week on my patients this week and it is amazing! I am doing the myofascial release between my chiro and acupuncture and I really love the functional tests because the owners see the quick difference and change which I think is so important! The QR code tests are also great, and so important!
CASE
I had an awesome case last week - experienced showjumper owner, last assessed the mare 2 months ago as she was not right - had significant discomfort through L rib cage and treated with laser, massage and acupuncture. When i saw her last week, she was dragging LH toe slightly in trot under saddle - decreased ROM through L hock. Spoke about the lateral line and thought she was a bit skeptical so was explaining the SLL anatomy and about the acute rib discomfort and how it ended near the L TMJ and when i palpated that TMJ during the explanation, the horse was really sore. I treated the SLL with 1 acupuncture needle and after a nice release, the TMJ pain was no longer present! Have never seen anything like that before, probably because I am not checking so much for TMJ discomfort before performing sway tests etc, but I thought that it was really interesting!"
