WHAT VIM’S OWNER SAYS:
Vim is the most loving little boy, he’s such a friendly and gentle dog, truly has a heart of gold. A real gentleman to all that meet him, so sweet natured with people and dogs ❤️
He is always wanting to please and do right.
At the same time he has a extremely strong work ethic with tons of drive.
He is incredibly fast and goes from zero to a hundred in one second.
He has a perfect attitude for work and never stops working, but has a fantastic off switch and is calm around the house.
Vim is the most easy dog to live with.
He is very adaptable and I can bring him anywhere and trust him to handle all situations calmly. He’s completely stress-free, very confident and very open-minded, with a nice sensitivity that makes him easy to train. He reads situations well and figures things out quickly.
He is incredibly smart and loves using his brain to work things out, once he knows what to do, there’s no stopping him!🔥 It is an asset in work and training, but requires that you as a trainer is always one step ahead.
Despite his love for work and great intensity he keeps his head cool at all times.
His work on sheep is stylish and he takes his commands very naturally and obediently.
WHAT VIM’S BREEDER SAYS:
Vim is a son of Skärgårdsvallarens Ina (Kajsa) Kajsa is obedience trained and trialed in FCI obedience and an approved herdingdog (VP) excellent at nosework and very smart. She has two litters. All are x-rayed and 100% hd/ad ua. Normally we don’t x-ray for more than that in Sweden, but I also had Vim x-rayed to clear him of ocd. None of Kajsa’s puppies has ocd or epilepsy. My goal is to breed healthy dogs with a high level of trainability, strong nerves but coorporative and pleasing at the same time. They love food and to play with toys.
In regards of herding I want them talented and natural. I’m no expert at herding, so I want simplicity. And if they can move a couple of hundred sheep, then that’s good enough for me. Kajsa is brave and never gives up and never backs of any sheep. She has a nice drive and very strong holdback. She would never let a sheep slip away. She was easy to train as she was very natural from the beginning..
What I really love about Vim’s mother Kajsa is, that her offspring are talented within a lot of different areas/sports. She is a high drive dog, without going over the top and I see the same in her pups.
Vim’s sire, Gränsvallarens Åboy (Tott) has an absolutely impeccable temperament. He is a strong, confident, bomb proof dog, completely stress free, mentally tested (Mental test) with a great result and so are all of his litter mates. He can handle all environments and nothing faces him.
Excellent HD/AD status on all of his 40 offspring. Tott has also competed in obedience, and his owner was on the National obedience team with her previous dog.
Now they spend all their time competing in herding IK2 and he’s really talented.
Vim is fantastic. Really, I didn’t know he was as good as he is, before he was living with me for a while, when we did the x-rays.
He’s so complete. Great athletic build, amazing temperament, very good with children and pups, easily motivated by play and food, bright and super speedy. He is mainly trained in herding and is very natural with excellent sheepsense and a nice hold on sheep.
He’s environmentally strong and confident and also mentally tested with great results.
His siblings all compete in different dogsports, herding, agility, nosework, tracking, obedience class 3 (FCI)
What makes these lines a little special, I think, is that Vim comes from a line that doesn’t go back to Winston Cap, and a line that goes back to NZ border collies that do not originate from the traditional British lines either. They are of a completely different breeding and since border collies has a high frequency of use of the same dogs and lines, I am very happy that I managed to get these different pedigrees.
Vim would without question be a SUPER sports dog. His capacity is just endless!
