Meet Akane, a 2-week-old kitten who was found on the street at the municipal market in Cotacachi. A kind passer-by, who doesn't live in the city, brought her to our hospital for help.🫶

During her evaluation, we discovered an infection in her left eye, but otherwise, she is in good health. Akane will be fed and kept under observation for the next few weeks. One of our dedicated volunteers will provide her with a temporary home and the neonatal care she needs, including feeding her formula every 3 hours and applying eye drops daily to manage her eye infection.🥰

📢Meet Nina, an 8-year-old cat rescued from the community of El Batán by a concerned neighbor. After Nina’s owner passed away, her son cared for the cat until he moved, leaving her behind.

During her evaluation, Nina tested negative for leukemia and feline AIDS. She was already spayed and is in good health. Our team updated her vaccinations and she’s been dewormed. Now, we want to give her the chance to find a new home. 🌟

Nina is a house cat looking for shelter and love. She loves to play and is very sweet. 🤩

🌟A heartfelt thank you to everyone who generously donated towards adorning our Christmas tree. Your incredible support during this fundraising effort is deeply appreciated. Thanks to your contributions, dogs like Suri have received the essential veterinary care they need.🎄

Suri, a one-and-a-half-year-old Pitbull mix, successfully completed our TNR program. She was spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped.🐾

Our team found Suri while patrolling the streets of Cotacachi. She was in heat and covered in scabs from fending off other dogs. An examination revealed gastrointestinal distress, so Suri was initially hospitalized and received treatment before being spayed.💙

Thank you to everyone who has contributed ornaments (donations) to our Christmas tree. Your generosity helps community dogs like Johnny, who was brought to our hospital as part of our TNR program.✨🐾

Johnny has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. He also received a medicated bath to rid him of any external parasites. This vital work with community animals is only possible thanks to the donations we receive for this fund.🤩

It truly takes a village to care for our Cotacachi street dogs! We are grateful to our donors for the opportunity to give these animals a chance at a happier, healthier, and hopefully longer life. We also rely heavily on our community to help us care for them when they don't have a home.

A heartfelt thank you to the volunteers at Cotacachi Place of Hope for caring for Popis and bringing her to us when she needed veterinary assistance. She was fortunate to have such compassionate individuals looking after her and ensuring her well-being.

This cat was found in the La Compañía neighborhood, behind the Multieventos, last Saturday night. She appears to be spayed and is very friendly and calm. She has been vaccinated against rabies and dewormed. ✨

Cafe is a 7-year-old community dog who has been receiving continuous support from our foundation since 2022 due to a persistent skin condition. He’s back at the hospital for his medicated baths and a dose of Simparica. Additionally, he will receive any preventive care he needs, such as a thorough ear cleaning.🥰

As part of our community animal healthcare program, Cafe’s medical expenses are covered by generous contributions from supporters like you. Your donations make a significant difference in his life.

📣Boris and Balto are looking for a forever home!🐾

These two three-month-old Husky mix puppies were abandoned inside corn bags in a vacant lot in Cotacachi. Now, they are safe at our Amici Cannis Hospital, receiving the care they need. Both have tested negative for parvovirus and will soon be neutered, vaccinated, and dewormed. They show no clinical signs of illness and are in good physical condition. Despite their traumatic experience, they remain very affectionate, though understandably a bit shaken.💜
