Sterilization Campaigns are a very important part of the community work in rural areas! 🇪🇨👩🏻‍⚕️❤️

This amazing and hard work helps the community to control the overpopulation of dogs and cats, prevents spread of disease, prevents abandon, prevents injuries on the street and many more benefits for your pets.🐶🐶🐶❤️🐱🐱🐱

Another important part of the sterilization of pets is that it help the wildlife and the ecosystem as there will be less competition, less conflict and less persecution!🦅🐼🐻🐆🐕🦌

Please remember to always have your animals at home, sterilized and vaccinate them ! 🐶❤️🐱

This was a collaborative campaign between and many more individuals that donate their work and time for the greater good!

SYNOVIAL FLUID Analysis is a simple but very helpful diagnostic technique in order to assess some conditions of the joint! 🐆🩻💉🔬
In order to get it we need to perform an ARTHROCENTESIS, a minimal invasive technique that allows you to get the synovial fluid!
Due to the precision and pain of the procedure, anesthesia is required, then a correct ASEPSIS and ANTISEPTIC, identify the JOINT SPACE, disinfect once more before poking the needle and once in the joint space, aspirate the SYNOVIAL FLUID. 🧼🩺

What to assess?
-> Fluid appearance, viscosity and volume
-> Cytology (fluid smear assessment) - Total Nucleated Cells Count (TNCC), especially neutrophils

What does it tells you?
-> Normal
-> Inflammation
-> Infection —> Confirm with culture and do antibiogram
-> Immuno-mediated

All these information is very useful to decide the next course of action, select a treatment and give a better outcome!

At the beginning of the 2000s, the entire Nordic Arctic fox population hit an all-time low, with approximately 100 adult individuals. Currently, an estimated 450 adult Arctic foxes live in Norway, Sweden, and Finland. Hoy conmemoramos a nuestra majestuosa ave nacional! Símbolo de libertad y esperanza!
Orgullosa y honrada de poder trabajar con esta ave! 🦅❤️👩🏻‍⚕️
Sin embargo, a pesar de grandes esfuerzos realizados quedan menos de 150 cóndores en Ecuador! Realidad que empeora cada año!
Debemos actuar ahora si queremos tenerlos en el futuro surcando nuestros cielos.
Esteriliza a tus mascotas, así contribuyes a conservar nuestra ave nacional! 🐶❤️🐱

Día Internacional de la Mujer! ✊🏽❤️💜💚✊🏽
International Women’s Day!
Hoy quiero agradecer a todas esa mujeres fuertes y luchadoras. Ya que por ellas, estamos hoy aquí! Por ellas gozamos de Derechos!
Así que hoy quise honrar a dos grandes mujeres que me han inspirado en mi camino!
Patricia O’Connor quien se abrió camino en la medicina veterinaria y se convirtió en la 1ra Veterinaria de Zoológico!
Matilde Hidalgo quien luchó por seguir educándose, convirtiéndose en la 1ra Bachiller del Ecuador, no se conformó con “No” de respuesta y siguió estudiando hasta convertirse en la 1ra Médica del Ecuador!
Siguió así incansable hasta poder votar, y consecuentemente luchar por el voto femenino en Ecuador. Convirtiéndose en un derecho el 1929 y siendo el primer país de América Latina en instaurarlo!
Aún hay un camino largo por recorrer pero nunca nos rendiremos! 💪🏽❤️💜💚
