Cinders and her mother Bella were rescued by Amigos de Animales volunteers who climbed a steep mountain path to save them from being hung by a farmer.

The man's 9 yr old granddaughter approached us begging us to save them; their only mistake was being unspayed. Bella had just given birth and he wanted the pups to die without their mother. We rescued all. 6. The pups have found loving homes.

Bella and Cinders are both now spayed, VERY good guard dogs, extremely affectionate, clean and can be adopted separately.

Hello good people of Vilcabamba. My name is Chiquita because I am. Chiquita... small. I had a hard start in life, being left to fend for myself at a garbage dump outside of town . I was so scared. It was raining hard and I had nowhere to shelter. I ate grasshoppers and moths to stay alive. Then Amigos de Animales came to the garbage dump and when they called me I knew I was going to be ok. I would like to snuggle with a special human . I'm healthy and very loving. Can you find it in your heart to give me a home? Or sponsor my food for 10.00 a month?

This beautiful affectionate girl was taken to the vet to be euthanized. The vet wouldn't do it. There is nothing wrong with her health.
She was left at the vet for flea treatment but the owners never returned.

So she is crying and missing her family.
She's good with other dogs and has been shampooed and treated for fleas, so they're all gone.

The vet will spay this sweet dog at no cost and give her follow up checks for fleas.
Can you foster her until she's given a home or adopt her please?

Amigos de Animales is looking for a temporary foster place for this small dog who was left tied up in Sacapo when his owners escaped the fires. He chewed through his rope and made it down to Vilcabamba where our volunteers are feeding and watering him.and treating his sore paws. He's good with other dogs and ignores cats. He is going to Dr Mariana tomorrow for a checkup and will be bathed.

Charlie, a young purebred Black Labrador, was found starving and despondent on the streets of Loja by an American tourist who contacted Amigos de Animales to see if we could help.

Charlie is a happy boy now, loving and protective. He needs a home with good fencing just to stop him exploring and he obeys basic training commands. He has been living with other dogs and would enjoy walks and daily games with a ball.

Simón is a sweet and affectionate puppy with a gentle nature. Though a little shy at times, he loves playing with other dogs and enjoys exploring and hiding his favorite treats.

He’s expected to grow into a small to medium-sized dog, making him an excellent companion for any family.
