Hello Everybody,
If you have not had a chance yet, please consider helping with our research project. We currently have 50 responses and need another 100 ideally. To those who have already participated, THANK YOU !
The only requirement is that you are a veterinarian, older than 18, and have no specialty training relevant to orthopedic radiology (surgery, radiology, PT).
This is a very simple and straightforward survey.

The goal is to be able to publish the study and hopefully help the veterinary community at large.

Hello Everybody,
If you have not had a chance yet, please consider helping with our research project.
We are doing a quick research project on general practitioners evaluating canine sacro-iliac luxation in dogs.
The only requirement is that you are a veterinarian, older than 18, and have no specialty training relevant to orthopedic radiology (surgery, radiology, PT).
This is a very simple and straightforward survey that should take you less than 60 minutes (most people of have done it so far completed it in 30-40 minutes).
We need 150 respondents for proper statistical analysis. As long as you keep using the same browser, you should be able to do the survey in multiple sessions.

The goal is to be able to publish the study and hopefully help the veterinary community at large.

Tooth aspiration in two cats following maxillofacial trauma

In human medicine, tooth aspiration is a rare but known critical complication following maxillofacial trauma, dental procedures, oral surgeries or endotracheal intubations. In the veterinary literature, aspiration of a foreign body (FB) into the tracheobronchial tree is rarely reported. In this report, the authors describe two cats that aspirated a tooth (one canine tooth and one premolar tooth) following maxillofacial trauma. One cat presented with dyspnoea, while the other showed no respiratory clinical signs. In both cases, a diagnosis was reached by obtaining routine thoracic radiographs, and successful retrieval of the teeth was achieved by bronchoscopy. Although rare, if not diagnosed and treated promptly, tooth aspiration may lead to serious and possibly fatal complications. Oral examination must be performed in all patients with maxillofacial trauma, and missing teeth should be accounted for. Keeping an open mind as to where a missing tooth might be located will allow prompt diagnosis and treatment.

🙀 If you enjoy sewing projects, be mindful of your pets! This kitty was brought to AMC's ER after ingesting a needle and thread. 🪡 Thankfully, the foreign object was removed surgically, and this lucky cat survived.

📬 Case from our inbox: "Case came in was a 12 yr old schnauzer who didn't usually come to our clinic but was a Saturday and wanted more lactulose as had been treated for constipation at usual vet clinic for a month but we had never seen the dog before. Vet palates abdomen and dog was obviously upset about it. We decided to do a quick conscious xray and found this. Owners hadn't seen him urinate for a few days! Poor guy 😞 ended up being PTS as owners didn't want to put him through the surgery and couldn't afford it."
