In a world often torn apart by conflicts, the ancient olive tree stands tall as a symbol of unity, resilience, and peace.

Across the beautiful landscapes of Palestine, these majestic trees have cultivated a profound connection to the region, representing the bond between people, land, and cultural heritage.

Olive trees, contributing to 70% of Palestine's total fruit production, hold a crucial role in sustaining the Palestinian economy. 93% of the harvested olives are transformed into precious olive oil (the best in the world)

Beyond their economic significance, olives act as a lifeline for over 80,000 families cultivating them in the Occupied West Bank.

The resilience of these trees is highlighted by the fact that it can take up to 20 years for an olive tree that has been cut down to grow back, and an additional 20 years for it to begin fruiting again, but it always grows back - again and again.

The Palestinians, like the olive tree, are a symbol of hope, resilient against the oppressive winds, with roots entrenched profoundly into their lands, where they persistently endure adversity every single day. We declare our steadfast support for Palestine, standing with them today and always.

At Tulima, we have implemented an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach, which includes introducing natural predators to our greenhouses. And who are these little helpers, you ask? 🐞

Meet the ladybugs 🐞 These amazing natural predators feed on a variety of pests that can damage crops, such as aphids, scale insects, mealybugs, spider mites, and whiteflies.

I (Zeina) had the pleasure of attending Dinner Club at Villa Soya, which was hosted by the incredible .cravings, yassinassi , and

Every detail was carefully considered to stimulate all of the senses, from the gorgeous table set up and music, to the delicious smell of the food cooking, which spread throughout the beautiful house (with a story that I won't spoil here 😉), and of course, the unbeatable taste of every single bite.

The menu was a perfect fusion of Mediterranean and Persian cuisine, filled with heritage, culture, history, and stories. 💜

I absolutely loved seeing our fresh produce being used in so many different ways by these incredible chefs!

Heard of the Berry-Spinach, the nutrient-packed superfood!
🍓 🌿

This leafy green has spinach leaves and little round berry-like edible fruit that grow on the stem. Its mild, zesty leaves are loaded with vitamins A, C and K, magnesium, potassium and folate.

The bright red berries make a stunning garnish and add a touch of sweetness and texture.

Perfect for smoothies and salads!

And it’s a spinach plant that grows berries, how cool is that?

We asked yesterday in our story what color of light do plants need to grow 🌱

If you answered red and blue, bravo! 🎉

Here is a brief explanation:

What we perceive as white light from the sun, is actually made up of the colors of the rainbow 🌈

So plants have the entire rainbow at their disposal when they are in full sunlight. What colors do plants absorb? Hint: it’s not green!

We can tell that plants don’t absorb much green light because it reflects off of them and into our eyes, making them appear green.

The fact that leaves don’t usually appear blue or red, means that they absorb those parts of the light spectrum and use them to grow.

Plants likely don’t absorb all wavelengths equally because it can harm them - just like staying in the sun for too long burns our skin, absorbing too much light can interfere with photosynthesis by heating up the leaf and damaging it. Solution? Absorb some and reflect the rest!

The light that plants predominantly use for photosynthesis ranges from 400-700 nm - which is reflected as Photosynthetically Active Radition (PAR), red - blue and green.

Plants grown outdoors in full sun, will naturally absorb the red and blue light from the spectrum. What about plants growing indoors? (Like ours) We supplement our growing areas with fluorescent red and blue light for healthy growth.

Blue light: The effect of blue light on plants is directly related to chlorophyll production, which means that plants receive plenty of blue light will have strong, healthy stems and leaves.

Red light: Improves photosynthesis, which in turn is responsible for the flowering and fruiting of plants. It is essential in early plant life for seed germination, root development and color development!

Fun fact: More red lights will increase the production fo sucrose, making the fruit sweeter!
