Animals are gifts from god, including pets who give you love, happiness and make you enjoy your time, sharing your life with lovely understanding loyal creatures that light your home with gentle sounds ^_^
Sometimes I feel that pets are more human than humans. If you are sad, they cheer you up to overcome your sadness. Really, they know many things about us that we dont know. We think we are help
ful for giving them food and shelter, but actually what we receive from them is far more valuable from what we give. Dont be astonished when a cat rubs your cheeks or face with his paw (hand) when you are lonely and sad. Sometime, he licks your hand, this lick is a kiss of affection to show you how grateful and pleased he is to be your friend. Also a cat may show his happiness purring, holding his tail aloft while waving the tip from side to side or by rubbing his body against his legs. It is not strange that we sometime talk to pets about our problems and secrets frankly to release our souls in front of a smart loyal creature who keeps secrets more than humans and never betray you. Pets may inspire you with signs that clear your mind to find solutions to your problems. In return of this care, love and affection that pets give us, they need very simple things like rubbing gently his head or between his nose. Simple things that a pet never forgets. Really, I experienced every word I wrote with a great handicapped cat that passed away (called CRUSH). When I was sad, he rubbed my cheek with his paw. I wonder, how he knew that I was unhappy at that moment. Now, I have another cat (called MARK) who I love madly. He came and got me out of grief with his humor flexible funny movements, climbing on the curtains to cheer me and build his muscles too xD
Gaining trust of a cat is very difficult because a cat is a quiet animal fond of order, freedom and cleanliness. If you are worthy of his affection, he will be your friend, but never your slave. If he loved you, he will not do for you what he thinks is unreasonable. Once he gives himself to you, it is with absolute confidence and fidelty of affection. He makes himself the companion of your solitude hours. He will remain for full evenings on your knee, uttering a contented purr, happy to be with you. If you own a cat, you have responsibiltes which cant be neglected, for an unhealthy cat is a misery, while a cat that is loved, well-fed, carefully groomed and kept under proper control is a good companion who will spread happiness. Here we have 10 GOLDEN rules all he or she needs:
1- A comfortable sleeping place away from the draughts.
2- Choose a well-known kind of dry food to give him all elements his body needs daily, but if he/she is a kitten, they will need more than 2 meals and of course dry food for kittens.
3- Dont use wet food daily so that he/she wont get used to it.
4- Fresh water in a bowl.
5- Human companionship and understanding.
6- A permanent home with people he/she learnt to trust, who regard their pet as one of the family.
7- Daily grooming. A find pet deserves fine care.
8- The services and advices of a qualified veterinary surgeon in times of sickness, that is a MUST. Dont ignore his sickness and leave him for 2 or 3 days without consulting a vet especially in case of viruses because this will make him suffer, getting worse and maybe dying. This will make you regret your delay in helping him (REMEMBER WELL!).
9- Dont let children maul him around when he/ she is a kitten. He is weak, very sensitive and very frightened. He get tired easily and needs plenty of sleep.
10- The company of another pet if possible.
