This is what we deal with daily....helping those animals that need our help...(2)
This.time it concerns a male cat who couldn't pee because of a blockage to the urethra. We tried to help him a number of times with a catheter but the blockage kept coming back. So we decided to bring him to Dr Albert in. Sharm for a perineal urethrostomy.
A perineal urethrostomy (PU) in cats involves removing the pen*s and suturing the deeper, larger-diameter region of the urethra to the skin to create a new urinary opening.
The operation was a succes and although the male cat is now "female" he can pee normally again.
Thank you Dr Albert Gabra for helping this boy

Animal Welfare Dahab has a number of dogs but also cats that are looking for the perfect home where they can spend the rest of their life surrounded by love and care. These animals we took off the street because of injuries or because they just can't cope on the street.

We are very sorry to bring you very sad news. In July we posted about Solly, an old Golden Retriever , needing a (foster)home. We were then so happy that we had found both.

But yesterday Solly passed away. After first going through an eye operation, Solly started getting epileptic attacks. These attacks only worsened and the vets thought she had pressure building up on the brain and an extremely high blood pressure. The last few days she wasn't herself anymore , just a ghost of the Solly we knew.
We would like to remember Solly as she was running free as shown in the video. She was a joy to all who met her and will be truly missed
Thank you Toby and Fiona for opening your home to her, taking care of her and giving her the love she deserved .
Run free, dear Solly!
Day 2, already a spring in his step
Anyone seen this dog before? Does she have an owner? She recently had puppies. She was roaming El Fanar and peace road. She walked off after someone gave her some food. I wasn't able to find her again..
She really needs tick treatment and some good meals.
If you see her, know where she is from or if she has an owner, please contact Animal Welfare Dahab and if you have the possibility, give her some food❤️
BE A FOSTER!

UPDATE ON BAHR AND AN URGENT FOSTER/AFTERCARE PLEA
Bahr was supposed to fly out in the end of Feb. But his adopter changed their mind last minute, and Bahr is still here. In a house full of dogs in need, and with me visiting him for walks daily. Good news: he's flying out in June, and this time he won't be let down. A big THANK YOU to all who's supported his travels - it's still happening! 🙏
I've asked for help with his fostering before, but nothing happened. Now his caregiver is truly overwhelmed by a number of dogs in aftercare who need special care and rest. Also meaning that Bahr is locked up in the garden alone seeking attention and playmates, but none of it happens. So - not happy about being locked up again - he barks. I find out about it once their caregiver has had it - and I need to sort it out NOW.
So, is there anyone who will foster Bahr for up to 3 months? Or alternatively, is able and willing to help out Animal Welfare Dahab with short term dog aftercare (taking in dogs recovering from injuries etc.)?
Bahr needs daily walks on a long lead, to keep his nose engaged (sniffing) and him calm. He'll be happy to be off lead on the beach, or in the desert. Has a great recall.
Please. Please. Please.
(I'll only be responding to fostering/aftercare offers.)

Update on our poisoned girl...
She is recovering well. She was terrified the first day of the other dogs, her new environment and didnt know what to make of all these friendly concerned people. But as you see she is starting to wag her tail and is doing really well.
We dont think returning her to the 3 Pools is a good option . So we either have to find another safe environment (after we sterilize her) or there is someone out there happy to give her a loving home....
