Someone sent me this today ...

I love it ...!!

It's what I have always said about Freedom .. and Horses

We owe the horse a lot ... and in some places they are treated like absolute slaves .. i.e. Egypt ....

They deserve our thanks and respect and FREEDOM.

Horse cruelty in Egypt is pretty bad .. . maybe the worst apart from Donkeys who also have it very hard .. but I feel Donkeys are a bit more tough and ressenilient that Horses .. who are super hyper vigilant and very aware and sensitive.

Really really fed up with our world of animal cruelty

FLASHBACK .....

The moment I walked Freedom away from his horrible tourist carriage life!!

I had been yelling in the street surrounded by a group of 15 Arab men for 1 hour and finally I gave them money to hire Freedom for 24 hrs.

I had to go find a stable and walked him to the other side of the city for about 2 hrs ... he followed me like a puppy through those noisy, trafficed streets ....

till we found a stable and he had food and quiet for the night .....

This was the first moment that I was able to lead him away from a life of hell ..

Since then it has been an ongoing battle to find him a forever home .... and people who will genuinely care for him ... but I have been so helped by all my supporters here

Freedom Rides Again !!!!!

OMG Guys . I am so happy to see Freedom run again after being told he was crippled and worthless 6 months ago ...

He just looks so unbelivably happy when he is running !!!!!!

Born to Run ... !!!!
not drag a bloody tourist cart around in the heat ....

Freedom hanging out with his animal pals ...... :)

He was always separated from other animals as a working street horse and also after he was rescued ... because i was always told he was a Stallion and dangerous ...

So nice to see him calmly chilling and chewing on stuff outside with his pals ....

Just beautiful !!!!

looks like the camel is a bit fascinated by him as she is often hanging around him in shots.

(looks like he is really putting on weight now !!!!)

Happy shot of Freedoms FIRST SWIM in the Nile ....

Freedom's current carer said Freedom was not sure at first of the water .... but he jumped in on his own by the end 😅 He was a very good boy ..

I cried when I saw this because it is his first time in water ... or ever swimming ... stay tune for the video of him swimming !!!!

A Freedom Fan sent me this gorgeous image today .. which so tell his story .. I was kind of gobsmacked when I saw it !!!

And also so sad .... at what horses go through.

Freedoms life as a carriage horse was a living hell .. he was only 3.5 years old when I found him but he looked so old like he was about to die (see image or video above in featured section of his rescue and how he looked).

They put heavy steel chains on the horses, summer is long in Egypt, with many 40+ degree days .. which means the steel chains burn into the animals hide .... not to mention starvation, being whipped and having to pull heavy tourists around in noisy traffic.

I wish I could save more, but just keeping this one horse off of the streets for 4 years has been a battle alone .

He also gives a BIG whinney .... hahahahahah
Freedom is very vocal and loves to use his voice and Whinney .. guess he gets that from me ... :)

They say in this stable he Whinney's a lot.

Hi Everyone ..

Our Boy, Freedom .. .got new twinkle toes today ..
new shoes ...

His feet look so pretty ...

I will put the video of him being shoed in next post .. he was so well behaved and quiet as they changed his shoes .. .

This just gives me hope he feels at peace in this new place ...

(you can see in this video the scars on his knees . .

Remember he had bleeding holes in his knees when I found him .. ?? It was probably from falling down a lot pulling carriages of heavy tourists who did not seem to mind getting in a heavy carriage being pulled by a small young horse who was emaciated and bleeding from many holes and wounds in his body ... .

These scars will never heal .... but its glad they are still covered over as it took about a year for his knees to fully cover over .... Poor Boy ... )

Shot of Freedom yesterday ... not a very good one sorry .. I am still pushing for more photos of him ... heres Freedom after he had another shower and wash ......

The best thing is that the new carers told our Rhianna Palmer - who is meditating a lot of the communication for us at the moment ...

That he really likes Freedom and thinks he's a very good boy ..

I just love seeing him out in this space with the trees and walking on soft dirt floor ... he looks peaceful .. and I think it would be nice for him being with other big animals ..... . i.e. camel and horses. I hope this is his happy home at last !!!!

UPDATES !!!!!!

so this week freedom had a saddle on his back again, and the new carer put his son on him. They only walked him just to see what he was like, but I was told he was a very good boy, very well behaved.

This video is from three months ago when I was told his ankle is broken and he would never be able to run again. I was, basically told "He could have been worth a lot of money but now he's worthless"

It was very upsetting, especially to be told he would never run again.

Although the last carers ran him WAY too hard, too soon, some of the videos of him running through the town or desert, made me laugh because he just looks so goddamn happy when he is running and was so so fast

This is the first time he has probably ever run in his life. He was young-ish when I got him, only about three years old, so it stands to reason that he's never run before - all he knew before was boiling hot, chains, whips and pulling, heavy tourists around in the sun.

So I was very happy to hear this week that they're starting to move him again, they're going very slow with him, he just walked the other day, but there's no swelling in his ankle any more and he's not limping so I'm hoping that this really bad video from a few months ago was just because he was run too fast too soon.

Anyway, it's good news, he's beautiful animal, as you can see, and my biggest dream for freedom is that he would become a riding horse.
