A must visit 🐱💖

I was found in a ditch on the Alcaufar road some years ago.
A drizzly cold January day.
I was only a baby , some 4 months old. I had been hit by a car and had a broken jaw , a broken front leg and I couldn’t move my tail or back legs.

I was in so much pain.

And frightened.

But a good thing happened. I was spotted and a phone call made asking for help for me.

People came to help me.

They stopped traffic and managed to get me into a cage.
Not easy for I was frightened and in agony.
I was taken to a lovely Vet in Es Castell and he saved me.

It would have been so easy to put me to sleep.
But they didn’t.

I made a complete recovery over the next few weeks.

I am Mandy. One of many cats cared for by Cats in Need Menorca.
Since 1999 we have been caring for feral and street cats.
On Fridays and Sundays 11 to 13.00 at Noria Riera 16 in Es Castell you are welcome to visit us at the Cat Cafe.
The cats love visitors.
Children are very welcome.
Small gift shop , hot and cold drinks.
We have our brunch at noon. A registered UK Charity we never out a cat to sleep if it can have a good quality of life.

For those who knew him, today I had to say goodbye to my bestie KING GINGY of Calas Coves. He lived here all his Life. After somebody abandoned him, Maria, a lady cared for him until she went to a seniors home. He was always everyone's best friend by charming every human he met💝. Gingy wormed his way into my Heart and i had the luck to be chosen by him to care and spoil him for the past 6 years. He even became a globetrotter, spending winters with us in Belgium. As he was a mediterranean Cat, he hated the cold so de stayed mostly inside next to the fire😁. I am devestated that he is no more, but so grateful for his Love. 🐱💖

At this time of year, you may be bringing lots of new plants into your house which could pique your pet’s interest. 🎄

Mistletoe, Ivy, Holly and Poinsettia plants can all give your pets a bad stomach if they are eaten or chewed on, as can pot pourri. 💙

Kittens need a forever loving home 😻😻😻

Estas tres crías, dos hembras y un macho, fueron rescatados por personas responsables en la zona de Trebaluger, vieron su estado y después de recogerlos contactaron enseguida con la Protectora. Estaban resfriados y famélicos, una de ellas muy deshidratada y delgada. Son totalmente mansos y cariñosos, tienen unos dos meses de vida. Suponemos que han sido abandonados. Confiamos que entre todos podamos encontrarles buenos hogares.

I think Charlie is hoping for a cool shower.

We all had the most amazing morning in the Cat Cafe.

It was like old times.

Lots of faces we hadn’t seen for 2 years in many cases, all glad to be back in Menorca. So lovely to see them , and little ones growing up, sitting with the cats, going into the Catio to feed them.

Charlie in the photo, just loves children. He’s usually a bit wary but he goes to children and toddlers.

It was the best day in a long time.
Thank you to everyone who came. And over the last few weeks also.

We’ll be open now twice a week , Fridays 11 to 13.00 and Sundays. 11 to 13.30.

We give the Furries their brunch at 12 but try and have Dreamies around for people to give them treats.
