Horse riding is just the perfect way to explore the wonderful, laid back Spanish countryside around the Sierra del Carche. Our riding holidays are geared more towards the enthusiastic amateur than the professional horseman, no experience necessary just good health and a spirit of adventure. Our well behaved horses will take you on a journey of discovery around the trails and tracks of the surrounding area. Our riding holiday package includes a minimum of 2 hours horse riding per day with the rest of the day free to relax by the pool or take in some of the surrounding attractions. Longer rides are available on request although experience has taught us that however enthusiastic our guests may be at the beginning of the week, a couple of hours is generally plenty for the majority of inexperienced bottoms! Whilst our guests are very important to us it also goes without saying that the horses always come first! Out and About
There's never a shortage of things to see and do in this wonderful area of Spain. Jumilla is home to countless cellars and wineries with plenty of opportunities for a little wine tasting. This historic town is the focal point of the Jumilla Wine Route - with a not to be missed wine festival during the middle of August. Yes, the fountains do really run with wine. Fortuna Spas - relax in the healing properties of the spa water in nearby Fortuna, the perfect way to unwind after a few days in the saddle or hiking across the mountains. These renowned baths are only a 40 minutes drive away. Sax - is just half an hour away with an abundance of typical Spanish bars, shops and a Moorish castle dating back to around the 10th - 12th century overlooking the town. Elche - aka "The Palm Tree Capital" a visit to this wonderful market town is well worth the visit. Climb the stairs of the Santa Maria Basilica for a birds eye view over more palm trees than you've ever seen before, there's also a great view of the town and surrounding area. There are some great museums too for any "culture vultures". The town of Elche can be reached in less than an hour. Benidorm - those who cannot envisage a trip to Spain without getting their "Benidorm Fix" will be happy to know that Benidorm in all its glory is only around an hour and twenty minutes away. Perfect for a day trip to the "other side" of Spain. The Beach - can be reached in less than an hour for those who fancy getting a little sand between their toes during their trip to "Real Spain". With so many wonderful beaches to choose from it's difficult to pick the best.
