I am a big fan of providing guidance and instructions when needed BUT there has to be a balance! Dogs already live very micro managed lives and if lovely Shelby here would be ”following orders” nonstop she would have no chance to:

🐶Express how she actually feels
👌Make good choices (other than obey)
🐽Relax and do her own thing e.g. sniff around
🛑Receive feedback regarding dangerous behaviours

Obedience doesn’t fix everything, it sure all hell can do A LOT but we have to know what’s going to happen when they are free to act on their own behalf🙈
