Todo Ayuda Project

Todo Ayuda Project A registered NPO, which aims to support and aid smaller, local animal welfare initiatives When were you set up? What do you do? Why do you do it?

Todo Ayuda Project is a Not for Profit Organisation (NPO), that aims to support and work with smaller local animal rescues and community based initiatives by running regular fundraising events on their behalf. We are completely independent of all animal charities and are not directly associated with any animal association, charities or rescues in Axarquia, the Costa Del sol or Andalucia. Todo Ayud

a Project (TAP) is run by a group of volunteers, who receive no remuneration, and is run and governed by the relevant Andalucian legislation, protocols and agreements

Who are you? Todo Ayuda Project has been set up by six friends who are all animal lovers, have rescues of their own, support and work with local animal rescue organisations or initiatives and who have a demonstrated track record with volunteer charity work. The founders are Maurice Jonker, Paul Bailey, Tracy Cowlishaw-Smith, Paul Tilly, Sue Bailey and Della Cowlishaw-Smith are supported by a small committee and a group of volunteers. Todo Ayuda Project is a Not for Profit Organisation (NPO) which was registered in November 2022 and became operational in March 2023. Todo Ayuda Project (TAP) aims to support and work with smaller local animal rescues and community based initiatives by running regular fundraising events on their behalf. How often do you see heart breaking appeals on social media for animal rescues trying to save ill-treated, abandoned or neglected animals? How often do you donate? Or just wish you could do more? What we know is that every animal rescue is short of funds, and this often limits what they are able to do. To allow rescues to focus on what they do best – rescue, treat, foster and rehome unwanted or abandoned animals – we will support them with fundraising activities and campaigns.

AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION

Meet Ned! We were asked to help when Ned was thrown over a neighbour’s wall 3 weeks ago.

Despite being abandoned at such a young age he is proving to be the sweetest puppy. He loves people, cuddles and other dogs. Thanks to his foster parents Ray Reid and Samantha Barnham Bishop who are helping us out he is growing in confidence and has no health issues.

He will make an amazing family pet on his own or with other dogs.

He is about 4-5 months old, 9kg and about 40cm tall.

He can travel and so can be adopted in Spain or abroad.

If you are interested please contact me or Paul Bailey.

Please share to help us find Ned his furever family.

Thank you 🙏🏼💕

Spain scrapped an annual bullfighting award on Friday, prompting a rebuke from conservatives over a backlash against a centuries-old tradition they see as an art form but which has run into growing concern for animal welfare.

WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO!

This poor boy, Yako, came to the attention of GADAH (Give a Dog a Home), one of the rescues we support. He was clearly malnourished and been neglected by his hunter owner but they had no foster available and no available funds to be able to get him to safety. They put out an appeal.

And that's where we came in! We were able to donate enough money to cover 2 months' private kennel fees to enable them to move him to a place of safety. He still has a long journey ahead of him to recover and before he can be rehomed but he is safe now.

How can people treat animals in this way??

You can help us help animals like Yako by supporting our events like our CURRY NIGHT on 24th April. It will be a great evening of tasty food with live entertainment by the fabulous Eliza Handley Profits from the sale of every ticket go back to helping local animal rescues.

Help us help them - TICKETS AVAILABLE AT TODO EXPRESS or online at https://fienta.com/curry-for-a-cause

Todo Ayuda Project is not an animal rescue but work to raise money to help local rescues help animals in need.

CARING FOR ANIMALS IN COMPETA AND THE SURROUNDING VILLAGES

The majority of people in the local communities around Competa and in the surrounding villages care passionately about animal welfare, and we are lucky to have two independently registered fundraising organisations (Action for Animals and Todo Ayuda Project) and one newly formed rescue team (Save a Life Rescue), who all share the same passion and work hard together to help abandoned, neglected and abused animals in need. In addition, the recent passing of the Spanish Law (Ley de la protection de animals) in March 2023 is a positive move forward for animal welfare across the whole of Spain.

We want to clarify in more detail the role of Todo Ayuda Project(TAP) and how we help. We are not a rescue but a fundraising organisation that local animal rescues can apply to for financial assistance.

TAP is a registered Not for Profit Organisation (NPO), that aims to provide financial support to smaller local animal rescues by running regular, larger fundraising events. We are Asociacion Todo Ayuda Project (TAP) (C.I.F.: G72897812).

Founded in early 2023 and run by volunteers, Maurice Jonker, Paul Tilly and Sue and Paul Bailey, we have run a number of fundraising events over the last 12 months and raised in excess of €11000.

Every animal rescue is short of funds, and this often limits what they are able to do, especially when faced with an emergency situation such as a badly injured or neglected animal, a large vet’s bill, an abandoned litter of puppies or an animal that needs to be moved quickly to a place of safety. And that is where we come in to help!

The rescues we have supported financially over the last 12 months are Give A Dog A Home (GADAH), ER Puppy HQ, Sarja Microsanctuary, The Underdog and Save a Life Rescue as well as a small number of individual donations to people who have rescued and rehomed animals without the support of an animal rescue.

We have made 47 individual donations, that have helped over 60 puppies, 42 dogs and 24 cats as well as supporting the animals at Sarja Microsanctuary.

We have paid for emergency vets bills, vaccines, sterilisations, equine vets bills, food and hay, kennels, chips and passports and made donations in support of capital projects.

You can help us help animals in need by contributing towards our fundraising efforts.

• Through Regular Giving by donating:

o 1€ a month via TEAMING ( https://www.teaming.net/todoayudaproject-tap- ) OR
o 5€ or 10€ a month via PayPal. Our PayPal username is or using our email address [email protected].

• By attending our various fund-raising event nights – the next one being a CURRY NIGHT on April 24th at the Carpinteria Bar

We thank you all for the care you have given your animals, and the support you have given us over the past year. We look forward to your ongoing support and commitment and hope to see you at the CURRY NIGHT on 24th April.

Once again we ask all pet owners to be respectful about town with their animals. Over the past few days you will have seen sticker signs on some corners which have now been deteriorated by dog p*e. Because of the new animal protection law, pets cannot be left loose in the town, anyone who does so will be fined.
Our pets cannot be let out to wonder alone onto the streets to relieve themselves, and legally they must be taken out and accompanied on leashes. Each owner is responsible to remove the pets waiste. Ensure you have a bottle of water (with a little bleach) to wash over the p*e.
We must be aware that pets are part of the family and must be treated as such.

My dogs live here, they're here to stay.
You don't like pets? Be on your way
They share my home, my food, my space
This is their home, this is their place.

You will find dog hair on the floor,
They will alert you're at the door.
They may request a litte pat,
A simple 'NO' will settle that.
It gripes me when I hear you say,
Just how is it you live this way?

They smell, they shed, they're in the way.
WHO ASKED YOU? is all I can say.
They love me more than anyone.
My voice is like the rising sun,
They merely have to hear me say,
'C'mon, time to go and play."
Then tails wag and faces grin,
They bounce and hop and make a din,
They never say, 'No time for you,
They're always there, to GO and DO.

And if l'm sad, they're by my side.
And if I'm mad, they circle wide.
And if I laugh, they laugh with me.
They understand, they always see.

So, once again, I say to you,
'Come visit me,' but know this too..
My dogs live here, they're here to stay.
You don't like pets? Be on your way.
They share my home, my food, my space
This is their home, this is their place.

UPDATE as of 14h00, 12th March.

We have almost reached our target and we are so grateful to everyone who could donate. Just a last push is needed.

One of the most frustrating, heartbreaking things about being involved in animal welfare is that funding is always an issue, so it's so uplifting and we feel so grateful when a community comes together for animals in dire need, when the alternative would certainly mean death.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to:
Joanna Neumegen, Lisa McLeod, Lisa Rachel, Lesley Sale, Marieke De Wever, Amanda Connery, Jennifer Herrick-Weatherstone, Merete Maria Bjornved Rosing, Phil McEvoy, Keith Wing, Phil Minnaar, Elaine Hanan, Christine Kongsmark, Mally Cooke, Sandra Telford, Robert Noddings, Inés López, Zoey Van Huyssteen, Gary Mason, Mark Adams, Helen Sears, Judith Sunley, Steve Soult, Lui Tee, Sol Findley, Catherine Murphy, Andrew D Jones, Nicki Hutchman, Chris Partington, Rob Lejeune, Patricia Mead, Freya Aswynn, Pia Röding, Brian Boas, Megan Furniss, and Tine Nusch

The Todo Ayuda Project is asking the community for help in raising urgent funds for three puppies who were dumped on 4 March 2024 at the rubbish tip opposite Gloypat, in Cómpeta. They are currently being fostered by Sue and Paul Bailey, but the puppies require vet checkups, puppy milk and food, and first and second vaccinations, the cost for which are conservatively estimated at €570.

Also, an abandoned cat, was involved in a hit-and-run accident on Wednesday 6 March outside the Chinese store by Schmidt Kitchens in Cómpeta. He was left for dead. The cat was taken to MiVets in Torre del Mar on Wednesday evening by Paul Tilly and Maurice Jonker, being the nearest emergency vet hospital.

The initial costs were covered by Action for Animals, but his hips were fractured as well as his jaw being dislocated. This has required the expertise of a specialist trauma surgeon, Dr Ariel Saravia at VET-Sur Cirugia in Fuengirola. On Saturday 9 March, the cat was operated on, for both his jaw and hips, and sterilised at the same time. The costs for the surgery, medication and hospitalisation are €1050.

Owing to the fact that Todo Ayuda had to cancel our February function because of lack of ticket sales, we are low on funds and urgently need to raise this amount to help these four defenceless souls. All invoices for costs will be made available on the Todo Ayuda page. Any donation will help in covering these costs. If you are interested in adopting any of the puppies, or the cat, please get in contact with us.
