"The other day I was driving in a rural neighborhood when I saw an elderly women (and when I say elderly I mean it- hunched over and shuffling as she struggled to make her way while pulling one of those wheely carts).

'Oh my gosh, is she ok?' I thought to myself. This was a pivotal moment for me...I could simply keep driving by or pull over to help her. Yep, I pulled over (STRANGER DANGER flashed through my mind!) Wait- What the heck am I doing? I rolled down the passenger side window, leaned over and gingerly asked: 'Mam, can I help you?' Her eyes became as big as dinner plates and I thought maybe I had scared her (nice going, Lisa, way to scare the sweet, innocent old lady). Apparently, I didn't! She opened the passenger door faster than I could say 'I change my mind, stranger danger!' and she hopped in.

'Yes', she exclaimed! 'You could take me to Walmart, please.'

Here we go, we're actually gonna do this.

The first thing I did was get something straight because I have never picked up anyone off the side of the road before so I blurted out, 'My name is Lisa. You're not going to hurt me are you?'

We exchanged huge smiles while she laughed and added 'Oh no, honey.' I knew we were on an adventure right then and there.

She proceeded to tell me all about the person who was going to give her a ride and didn't show up -she waited an hour before deciding just to walk the mile and a half. Then she went to tell me all about her bed-ridden son in the hospital and how much she wanted to go visit him.

As she shared her life story, she gave me solid directions by telling me to turn right while she pointed left. Precious.

Before we knew it we arrived at Walmart. I secretly wished I could have spent all day taking care of her and listening to her life stories, but I was working and um, we were strangers, right? Maybe not so much. As I waved goodbye I wished her a Blessed Day. That could have been my Grandma or your Grandma or your Mom, or sister. I took care of her that day even if just for a little bit and for that I thank God. Me and Amy."

When Travis Kelce signed his four-year, $57 million contract extension with the Chiefs in 2020, he wanted his first purchase to be something special, not just a new car. He shared that he plans to buy a building for his Eighty-Seven & Running Foundation, creating a safe space for inner-city teenagers in Kansas City to explore science, technology, engineering, and math.
Kelce was motivated to start this foundation because he noticed that, during his own childhood in a diverse community in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, many kids didn’t have the same opportunities he did. Once he made it to the NFL, he was set on helping disadvantaged kids, and this new contract is a way for him to make that happen.

This is my old man, Chester, I adopted him when he was 17 years old.
My vet gave him one, maybe 2 weeks to live. He had a mouth infection, was heartworm positive, strong heart murmur, etc.. Chester was a fighter though, and so was I, we didn’t give up.
He underwent surgeries and treatments. He is now 22 years old (his birthday was Oct 17) and very healthy and happy. And he always has a smile on his face. He is such a handsome, happy boy! ❤️🐾

There is an elderly lady that lives next door to me and she's by herself and she has a little bit of a hard time getting around, and I cut the grass for her. Today I walked over to her house and ask her if she had dinner yet, and she said no. I asked her what she was going to have and she's probably just a hot dog, I told her hang on for a second do you have a plate that I can borrow and she said yes. So I came next door and this is what I brought to her for dinner. When she seen this she had the biggest smile on her face and her eyes lit up and it made me really happy to see that expression on her face. Later on in the evening she sent me a message telling me thank you for the dinner and it was really good and that made my night

Thank you so much to everyone here who sent well wishes to my Joe from his tooth cleaning procedure. Unfortunately, he ended up in the ER the following week and diagnosed with panceatiris. It’s so hard when your dog is 15 to know what to do. He came home on Wednesday, and we had planned to put him down tomorrow if he didn’t improve, but instead he has been slowly in recovery mode. We love our Joe so much, and we don’t want him to suffer, but he is getting better each day so maybe he has other plans. 🙂 Your support has really helped me family get through this month!

“This is my dad. I’m 33 weeks pregnant, on my own, with a 5 year old. He helped me move today, all day, without complaining once. He raised me on his own after he fought for me and won full custody when I was just a baby.
There has never been anyone who I have ever been able to count on like I can count on him. I haven’t always made the best choices, but still he has always had my back. His love is unconditional and I am so proud to be his daughter. If I can be half the parent that he has been then I have succeeded.”

"This sweet lady did something very nice for me this morning. I didn't grab anything from the house for my lunch so I stopped at the McDonalds in Taft. Doors are locked and this McDonald's worker that was on her break says to me, "I'm sorry Sir but we are only open for drive through." I said, "well that sucks, I'm driving a big rig." As I turn away and started back towards my truck she says, "Sir, I'll go inside and get you something, what would you like?" She used her break to meet my needs and I think that she deserves some appreciation, because I sure do appreciate what she did for me. Us truck drivers are running and doing our best to get product back into the stores to fill the shelves as quick as we can. She showed a little human kindness. A lesson that I think we all can learn from."

My grandmother passed away recently (it was quiet and painless at 92) and I am inheriting this absolute masterpiece frog. My mom doesn’t get why I want him but I think this group will appreciate!

It's what my father and I made together, but no one appreciated it! 💛😊

**she wears goggles
I had one of the scariest days of my life yesterday. Aspen my 20 pound Mini Goldendoodle fell out of my car widow while I was going 40 mph. I looked back to check on her which I do every few seconds. One second she was there the next she wasn't. I looked in my rear view mirror and saw her rolling on the side of the road. I had her harness on and buckled to the seat. She still had her harness on when I got to her. A piece broke and she went flying. Luckily she had on her sweatshirt and puffer jacket. Which I think saved her bc the jacket had a hole in it and some tears. She was not hurt but l was so scared. She had some road rash on her nose but thank God that was all. It could ve been so much worse. Please everyone double check your babies harnesses and seatbelts. She's doing great this morning even jumping around and playing with Montgomery.
**Please no ugly comments. I feel horrible enough already. This could’ve happened to any of us.

Yesterday, we had a horrible customer at the restaurant, he yelled at the bartender because we didn’t have club soda. The bartender explained we don’t have club soda because we don’t have liquor (just beer and wine) and therefore we don’t have a soda gun behind the bar. He didn’t like that.
Then he asked for a cheese that we don’t have, even after she read him the cheeses we did have - twice. She explained we don’t have that cheese. Then he LOST it and started yelling at her as if she was hoarding the world’s supply of this cheese for herself. Ridiculous.
He eventually left in a big huff and every other person within earshot of his temper tantrum was thankful.
Even after he left we still had a black cloud over us. Admittedly, we let this man and his behavior affect our day.
That is until an older gentleman and his adult son came into the restaurant and changed our whole mood. They are relatively new regulars (started coming in a month or so ago). The son has Down Syndrome and his father takes care of him throughout the day.
The father is very talkative, but his son (Peter) never spoke to us – he was always happy to eat his sandwich and bop along to the music (he really likes Grateful Dead songs).
As they were getting ready to leave, the father waved us over. We got to the table and Peter looked up at us and said…
“I’m happy here, I see you give out hugs, can I have a hug?”
We happily raised our hands to start the hug and he quickly pulled us in and gave us the strongest bear hug we’ve ever received in our life. He lifted us off the ground – anyone that has ever met us face-to-face will attest, that is no easy task.
Thank you Peter, with one (just shy of unbearably strong) hug, you made our entire day better (and gave us a free back alignment). You’re an awesome man.
