Some insights on Hackel vom Kohlerwald:
" To appreciate the breed you need to know something of it´s orgin. It is useful to have some idea of how the dog developed and how its instincts and capacities were modified and adapted to carry out its working role. Below is the very first dog that impressed me in the history and some comments that old breeders have told.
I remember my very first rottweiler book of my own and the picture of Hackel v Köhlerwald. Hackel was bred by Weber and owned by Jakob Köpf, Head breeding supervisor of the ADRK, being also one of the most successful and knowledgeable breeders of all time. His comments about Hackel are very revealing:
"I must mention one dog in particular, Hackel. he was the best rottweiler that I have ever known. Unfortunately I was not his breeder, but i did have the luck to own him for ten years. He was smarter than any dog that I ever had. he´s nerves was steel, he had his total freedom, did everything right, was frightened by nothing and yet was very goodnatured so that everyone could touch him. If nessessary he attacked immediately, but never seriosly hurt anyone. he sired the greatest number of Rottweilers and did so the breed great benefit. My wish: another Hackel to my life. He does not have to be handsome as as the Köhlerwald dogs, but he would have to bring a rottweiler`s character like Hackel`s. It is possible that other work breeds are better in this or that characterictic, but in stediness, courage and aggressiveness, none is superior to the ROTTWEILER!." ( In June 1957 )
The great triple Sieger SchH2 Hackel v Köhlerwald passed on both looks and Character to his progeny, making him, possibly the breeds greatest sire. ( courtesy M Bruns.from he book of rottweilers ) Hackel sired eighty-two litters with 375 puppies being registered. He produced over 100 champions and the greatest of dog graded "excellent" both in work and show."

Es util tener alguna idea de como el perro evoluciono y de como sus instintos y capacidades se modificaron y adaptaron para poder llevar a cabo su rol de trabajo. Abajo esta el primer perro que me impresiono en la historia y algunos comentarios que viejos criadores hicieron sobre el.
Recuerdo mi primer libro sobre Rottweilers y una foto de Hackel V Köhlerwald. Hackel fue criado por Weber y propiedad de Jakob Köpf, cabeza de cria del ADRK, siendo tambien uno de los mas exitosos y conocedores criadores de todos los tiempos. Sus comentarios acerca de Hackel son reveladores:
"Debo mencionar un perro en particular, Hackel. El fue el mejor Rottweiler que he conocido jamas. Desafortunadamente no fui su criador, pero tuve la suerte de ser su dueño por 10 años. El fue mas inteligente que cualquier perro que haya tenido, sus nervios eran de acero, tenia una libertad total, hacia todo bien, no se asustaba por nada y a al mismo tiempo era un buen tipo y todos podian tocarlo. Si era necesario atacaba inmediatamente, pero nunca daño seriamente a nadie. Fue el padre de la mayor cantidad de Rottweilers y con eso hizo por la raza un gran beneficio. Mi deseo: otro Hackel en mi vida. No tiene que ser tan apuesto como los perros Köhlerwald, pero tiene que tener un carácter de Rottweiler como Hackel. Es posible que otras razas de trabajo sean mejores en tal o cual característica, pero en autosuficiencia, coraje y agresividad, ninguna es superior al Rottweiler" (Junio de 1957)
El gran triple sieger y SchH2 Hackel v Köhlerwald transmitió tanto belleza como caracter a su progenie, convirtiéndolo posiblemente en el mejor padrillo de la raza."

Hackel nacio el 24.03.1929, fue padre de 82 camadas con 375 cachorros registrados. Produjo mas de 100 campeones y la mayor cantidad de perros calificados como excelente tanto en trabajo como en show.
