Rota Animal Welfare League - RAWL Rota Animal Welfare League (RAWL) is a non-profit animal care facility on NAVSTA Rota military base sustained entirely by community donations and volunteers.

Our number one mission at RAWL is connecting animals with loving, caring, forever families. Rota Animal Welfare League (RAWL) is an animal shelter that finds homes for dogs and cats, and relies on volunteers of NS Rota, Spain to care for those animals.

WISHLIST WEDNESDAY!

RAWL is entirely reliant on the generous donations of the Rota military community to function; we literally couldn't do any of this without you! Below is a list of the items we most need this week.

We would also very deeply appreciate any and all financial donations. Making certain our animal residents are healthy is one of our top priorities and vet visits are an ever-present expense for us. We also have a trainer who works with our dogs in order to make sure they're as ready as they possibly can be for their forever homes.

2. motivate you to get your daily steps in because he loves to go on walks and/or runs?
3. make you laugh because he's legitimately the sweetest part-gremlin to ever exist?
4. improve your life in basically every possible way?

Then you're in luck because Bentley fulfills every single one of those requirements! Bentley is a seven-year-old terrier-mix with love and energy to spare and he's looking for an active family to give him that perfect forever home. Bentley does well with kids and cats and gets along with most other dogs but he definitely isn't a couch potato and he needs plenty of activity and interaction.

I mean. I'm not surprised. Just look at him!

But I think Hercules would say HIS pot of gold would be a brand new family with whom he can spend his golden years. Maybe that family is yours?

Good morning everyone!

As you may (or may not!) know, RAWL is entirely run by volunteers and we are always in need of help--not just to provide direct care for our resident pets but to keep the building, kennels, and grounds clean and functioning so those residents have a safe and comfortable place to live while they await their forever homes!

Rota Animal Welfare League

In 1989, three like-minded friends combined their own individual efforts of helping homeless community animals into an organization. Thanks to their ceaseless hard work, private donations, and volunteer participation, RAWL has become a thriving and caring halfway home for animals that is unique among military installations. To date, RAWL has successfully re-homed more than 1000 cats and dogs with caring NAVSTA ROTA community individuals and families.

RAWL has been an integral part of the NAVSTA Rota community for more than 30 years. As a private organization, base approval is filed for annually. We have an elected volunteer board that provides oversight of operations at the shelter. Our animals come to RAWL from local shelters and partners as well as from individuals who can no longer care for their animals.

Due to our limited capacity in space, we are unable to take in stray animals and do not have an open admissions policy.
