Evening guys. A bit of a long one but please take a few minutes to read 🙏🏻
This little boy lived next door to my mum since he was adopted as a pup by his lovely mum who lived alone. Fast forward 14ish years and his mum has a stoke which leaves her needing 24h care with not much speech left apart from my baby meaning her dog who she loved so much. Her family in the UK find her a care home where she can take her dog as they were joined at the hip! He slept in bed with her, and cuddled her most the day on the sofa.
Around a week ago I saw Torrevieja dog pound had posted they had the dog.. straight away I recognised him and we got intouch with the care home letting them know.
Long story short, after alot of back and forths with the owner of the care home, he didn't want the dog back and had no interest in collecting him from the pound. He said the dog was nothing but trouble. We then discovered the dog was never allowed in the care home and had to live outside knowing his mum was inside. Of corse he was stressing out and trying to escape at any given chance.
Knowing the dog for 14+ years there's no way I could leave him in a pound knowing how stressed he would of been. So this morning we went and collected him, I now have him at home. The lovely lady's from the pound told us he had been there for 3 days and hadent touched any food or water. Tonight he has finally calmed down, had some food and a lovely walk.
For many circumstances I can't keep him, although it breaks my heart but I'm looking for a foster/ permanent home for this chap to retire and spend the rest of his days. All he wants is love, he is amazing with my 3 year old son, other dogs & all people. Please spread the word.. he needs that special someone to give him the love he deserves. Xx
