Epona Equestrian Centre is a BHS aproved Dressage centre, specialised in Equestrian tourism and Riding Holidays. Accomodation is in a 4* historic Hotel.

We offer several different programmes that include from trail riding (on sensitive safe mounts) in the inmediate countryside and on the beach, combined with basic dressage or equitation lessons, as well as more Intesive Dressage courses ranging from basic to High School level for the keener Dressage riders. We have a large number of sensitive well trained School Masters (mainly Andalusian or PRE)

on which our visitors will have a chance to ride and experience some of the medium and advanced movements rarely available to the amateur rider. We also hold several clinics a year with olimpic medallist Rafael Soto. These are very popular and often fill up quickly, so look out for dates on our web site www.eponaspain.com !

This week we are offitially on Christmas Holidays . Unoffitially, we are still busy at Epona😅.
We asked our working students and Instructor Joke to do an "in depth" clean of the tack rooms , and they really took it seriously!!
Everything was taken out , cleaned and put back. What a great team!!

Sadly our amazing Australian working student Annabelle, finishes her stay with us today and soon our lovely french student Diane will too!

We are sharing a selection of some amazing photographs taken a few weeks ago by equine photographer Sarah Kelman who spent some days riding with us.

The photographs capture moments of some of Sarah's fellow guests from that week during their lessons, our instructors/trainers schooling the horses, our amazing farrier of 30+ years Manuel Rosa de la Rosa and his students at work, some horses enjoying turn out, and also some stunning moments at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art , which our guests get to visit during their stay at Epona.

We are receiving many concerned messages from Epona guests, family and friends.

We are happy to say that we are all well, human and animal.

We have experienced torrential rains especially over Tuesday and Wednesday. The access into the farm has been challenging at times as the stream that runs at the bottom of the property became a huge river that overflowed over the top of the bridge like it has never done before, not this high and big!!

However, we have managed to maintain the programmes running as best as possible, so far, only one afternoon ride (which we will try to replace tomorrow) has been missed for some of the riders and we had to cancel the beach ride and did a ride at Epona instead, for obvious reasons...

Today we have had some showers, but nothing like the past days and we even got sun in the afternoon🌤 And finally the forecast looks better for the rest of the week and all the way in to mid November at least!

With all this, and seeing the devastation in Valencia and other parts of Spain, we feel extremely fortunate that we just had a few small incidents to deal with and that everyone, including all our animals are safe.

The storms of these last days have been the worst natural disaster in the country since 1996. More than 100 human lives have been lost, and still many are missing. It is a very sad situation for many , we are still processing the images of what we see🥲‼️Update: The deaths are now over 160 and this disaster is now the worst natural disaster in Spain since there are records‼️

So, a big huge THANK YOU to everyone who has been worried about us and to those that are following the news with great concern about our lovely country🇪🇦🖤

We got so many lovely photos from the last few weeks, it was hard to make a selection.

The Autumn brought us some storms and much needed rain...

September , and especially October, are two of our busiest months, we are always greatful to our amazing horses and staff who work hard and well to give our guests the best time possible, and of course, to all the riders who chose to ride with us❤️🇪🇸

A great start to the season. Wonderful people from all over the world🌍, lovely weather and best of all, our beautiful Andalusian horses.

Looking forward to some more great weeks this Autumn!

By the way, September and October are practically full except for some very few spots here and there due to cancellations and postponements. November and December are also filling up, especially the training programmes, so you should book soon if you have plans to visit us around that time.

Today we start our usual two week summer break.
This means no guests for the next couple of weeks. Some of our staff are on holidays and the pace will certainly slow down , but with 50 horses, 16 dogs, the crops and everything else that goes on at Epona, we will be keeping ourselves busy! Hopefully not so busy that we can't rest a little and spend some quality family time!

Epona has been a British Horse Society approved riding centre for almost 30 years. We are, presently, the only BHS approved riding centre en Spain.
We receive periodic inspections to make sure that everything is up to standard, the last one took place just a few weeks ago.

The well-being of the horses is obviously the main priority, but the safety of the rider and everyone around the horses, quality of the facilities, professionalism of the staff etc., is also very important.

We are proud to have been a member of the prestigious British Horse Society for almost 3 decades!!!

We've been so busy the last few weeks, we barely had time to stop and think, between running the various different programmes, including a custom Rafael Soto clinic and the training and schooling of our horses etc, it's just non stop.
Here is a small selection of photos of some of the amazing people that rode with us these few weeks in the various different programmes.

We are, as always, grateful for everyone who chose us, either for the first time, and very especially, to the wonderful repeat guests.

On Tuesday mornings, our guests go to watch the performance at the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art in Jerez.
Meantime, back at Epona , we are still busy.

Sharing some photos of our morning at Epona, working students riding our lovely PREs Alacrán and Naipe in a lesson, Sherree schooling PRE stallion Hornillo. And we also received a visit from Epona former instructor Karin, who many of you will remember. Today she rode our stallion Pérgamo.
Karin is like part of the family to us, so it's always a happy day when she comes to visit🤗

It was such a wonderful group of riders (and non riders) who joined us this past week. As always a big thank you for choosing us!!🤗🇪🇸🦄
The weather was warm and sunny and all the spring flowers in full bloom!!

Our riders joined us from the USA 🇺🇸, the UK🇬🇧, Australia🇦🇺 and Denmark, and participated in the "Train & Trail" , "Intensive Training", " Classical dressage and High School Training" and the "Andalusia Horse and Culture" programmes.

This past week, as every 2 years, we recieved the students from the College Pierre Aguito in Brécey (France). This special dressage course that we prepare for a rather large group of students, ran simultaneously with another group on our Train & Trail programme. Thanks to our wornderful (and many!) horses, and our oustanding , hard working and graceful team, we managed to make it another succesful week!!👌🏼💃🦄 Thank you Johnny, Abi, Sherree, Doris, Mariluz, Chami , Rosario and the rest of the team for giving more than 100% this week!!😛
