What an AMAZING response! 🥳 We were absolutely blown away by the number of volunteers who showed up to walk the dogs today!
Some of our pups, who usually only get a quick stroll in the park, had proper walks, and others even got TWO walks—what a treat for them! 🐾❤️
We had three times the usual number of walkers, including lots of new faces, some of whom drove 50 minutes just to lend a hand. WOW! 😍
If you came today and thought, “This must happen every time”… well, we wish it did! 🙏 The dogs deserve days like this EVERY day, and we’d love to see you again.

🎉 A New Year’s Message from Queen & Camilla! 🐾
Hello, dear humans! We are Queen and Camilla, two lovely dogs from sunny (but chilly) Spain. We’re writing to you because this New Year, our biggest wish is to find warm homes and loving families. It’s not just us—there are over 300 of our doggy friends here waiting for the same miracle.
The amazing humans who care for us have great transport links, so we can travel to meet you no matter where you are. We may be in Spain now, but we’re ready to journey to our forever homes—could that be with you?
It’s getting cold here, and we don’t have warm, soft beds or families to snuggle with. We’re dreaming of a New Year filled with kindness, love, and a second chance at happiness.
All dogs matter, and we’d love for you to open your hearts to adopting, not shopping. Together, we can start 2025 with tails wagging and hearts full of joy!

Who remembers Riley? This was the dog that would sit and stare into the corners of his kennels for hours if not days 😭😔….rolling forward, Riley has been given a second chance by an amazing adopter. What an incredible change in just a few weeks!!! We are amazed.
We cannot thank the adopter enough for giving him space to develop his confidence and trust, what an incredible home he now has! 😇. Also we would pay tribute to the generous donators, the significant efforts of dedicated volunteers and foster carers who never gave up hope.
A lot of people have lost sleep worrying about this little lad and photos like this make it all worthwhile.
Riley arrived with Jackson who was as traumatised. He is currently being cared for in a private kennels which is being paid for by kind donators. We are monitoring his progress and considering plans for him. It is clear that they both require extra special homes, they really are the most traumatised dogs ☹️

New Lorca lad Harvey is described as the perfect gent….and he’s already passed a cat test!!! Well done lad!!!
Listed as a mixed breed but he reminds us of a Great Dane….certainly a great dog!

Quite a few dogs have missed out on walks this week, this makes us very sad and worried as the prospects do not look great for the next few days.
Here are 3 of the 30-40 dogs that missed out today (Friday), sadly, there were some dogs that missed out on Wednesday too, we have been doing so well recently but we have a lot of volunteers who have commitments preventing them from doing as much as normal. The volunteers that do go are on their knees - just to try and give the dogs a little piece of happiness in their sad lives.
We are worried as tomorrow (Saturday), we are restricted to walking 9-12 (2 hours shorter than normal) and we have other significant absences. The pictured dogs here are Lance, Camila and Neus, they are all in the far section opposite the concrete kennels and will have flags on the front doors. Please start on them if you are able, they are the priority.
Next week there are different walking days which usually results in less volunteers able to help in addition to periods of 2 subsequent days that the volunteers are not allowed in ☹️☹️. If a dog misses a walk they will be stuck in a small kennel for 3 days, we hate the thought of this. No volunteers equals no walks. Please do not rely on others turning up.
Please come and help, even a couple of hours extra helps the dogs and the volunteers enjoy Xmas. We predict our crucial days this week are Saturday and Tuesday. All dogs matter, everywhere, everyday. The dogs and volunteers can’t wait to see you.
