I wanted to share a lovely story of this little chiuaua that her owner considered not friendly to other dogs and asked me to isolate her from others.

With her permission I said I will introduce her to my very friendly Yorkie and everything went so well that they became friends. Later that day another dog joined us and she didn't show any sign of aggression towards him either.

It shows that dogs can behave in a friendly manner when there is a good, friendly, relaxing atmosphere around them that creates harmony.

I suspect that agression appears when owner is around and when the dog becomes jelous or protective.

Dogs sometimes are like kids - they act completely different when parents are not around 😁

UPDATE: kitten found a temporary home until the man who found her comes back to Spain and adopts her himself. Thank you all for sharing and trying to help, it's a good result 👍🙂

My neighbour found this stray little kitten running in the traffic by Lidl yesterday. He took her back to his home in Torrevieja and made sure she is washed, fed and hydrated.

He is leaving on 23 July (Tuesday evening) until October, so he's urgently looking for anyone who would like to adopt her or at least look after for couple months until he is back.

She is sweet, seems to already know how to use a litter box and as you can see from the photos - very cute!😻 She's been dewormed and checked by vet for health. He's planning to do her documents upon his return.

✅️I have recently completed a local FIRST AID FOR DOGS course and received a Certificate✅️

A key point for first aid is learning to 🔴RECOGNISE AN EMERGENCY🔴

Here are some emergency situations where you should definitely take your dog to the vet:

If they:
➡️aren’t breathing or are having difficulty breathing
➡️are unresponsive
➡️have collapsed and can’t get up
➡️are having a fit/seizure
➡️may have broken bones
➡️are having difficulty moving or coordinating movements
➡️may have eaten something toxic
➡️have been vomiting or passing diarrhoea for more than 24 hours

The beautiful, friendly and playful Kobu (rotweiller and labrador mix) has been staying with us for 2 days 🙂🐶

An update: Kobu owners are looking for a new family for their dog as they've moved to a flat and they say it is too small for a big dog. Please contact us if you know anyone who is interested. This dog is friendly to other dogs, people and children (he currently lives with two small kids), doesn't pull on walks and doesn't chase cats. He's affectionate lovable big fur ball🥰

SHAKING HANDS WITH A DOG

Getting your puppy to shake hands with you is a fun way to play with your pet and to reward them.

Dogs usually shake hands if they want something, such as the food you have in your hand. It’s their way of saying “I want that”.

To get your dog to shake hands, have some food in one hand, and while your puppy is sitting, pick up one of its paws and say “shake”. Once the dog is shaking hands with you, reward him with the treat.

Regularly doing this and repeating the words “shake” or “shake hands” will train your dog to put his paw out whenever you say it.

Dogs are an endless friendship, a loyal friend, a part of life and a happy reason to exist 🥰🧡

I spent whole 24 hours with a lovely family of 5 chiuauas. I looked after them in their usual home environment, and attended to all their needs including giving them lots of cuddles, dog walking near the sea, giving them medicine and even helping little Darcy to recover from epilepsy.
