We have a small refuge for the dogs which is always full and 2 charity shops in Torrox Costa - you can make a donation here or by clicking on the "Donate" button. Every single penny we make goes back into providing a safe haven and veterinary care for the dogs. TAIL Torrox Tienda Benefica, Avenida el Faro 10, Torrox Costa and Urb Costa del Oro, next to Lloyds Bank. The shops are open Mon-Sat 10am

There is no space! The refuge is full. We take mainly sick, wild and dogs with dfficult behaviour rehabilation takes time (and a lot of effort)

We accept new dogs case by case and kept a waiting list.

Update: Several people have asked about the dog with mange that was trapped just before Christmas. We decided on the name Caspar. His blood test results show both active leishmania and filaria (heartworm) disease.
He has started various treatments - thank you to the people who have donated towards his care. Today he had his first bath, usually with a dog so sick baths can wait but we felt he would feel a lot better with some of the scabs removed.
It will be long road but we hope that Caspar can make a good recovery.

Actualización: Varias personas han preguntado sobre el perro con sarna que quedó atrapado antes de Navidad. Nos decidimos por el nombre de Caspar. Los resultados de su prueba de sangre muestran leishmania activa y enfermedad de filaria (gusano del corazón).
Ha comenzado varios tratamientos; gracias a las personas que han donado para su atención. Hoy tuvo su primer baño, generalmente los baños pueden esperar, pero sentimos que se sentiría mucho mejor si le quitaran algunas de las costras.
Será una carrera larga pero esperamos que Caspar se recupere bien.

This poor dog came into our care yesterday. He has a bad case of sarcoptic mange which is caused by mites. Today blood was taken to test for for other diseases. Thank you to Victoria for trapping him in a safe and humane manner.
Does anyone have a nice name suggestion for him?
Of course, any help with his veterinary costs is also very much appreciated.

Este pobre perro llegó ayer a nuestro cuidado. Tiene un caso grave de sarna sarcóptica causada por ácaros. Hoy le extrajeron sangre para detectar otras enfermedades. Gracias a Victoria por atraparlo de una manera segura y humana.
¿Alguien tiene una buena sugerencia de nombre para él?
Por supuesto, cualquier ayuda con los gastos veterinarios también será muy apreciada.

Approx three quarters the dogs we rescue enter the refuge with disease caused by ticks, sand flies or mozzies. It is essential to protect all dogs living in this region against these external parasites. All our dogs are treated with Frontline TRI ACT monthly (we buy the large packets and split them) We always wait for an offer but the price has increased a lot. Please consider donating towards this cost....every little amount is a good help

Aproximadamente tres cuartas partes de los perros que rescatamos ingresan al refugio con enfermedades causadas por garrapatas, flebotomos o mosquitos. Es fundamental proteger a todos los perros que viven en esta región contra estos parásitos externos. Bill and Ben enjoying frozen Kongs. These rubber toys are filled with meat and then frozen. The dogs love them... Bill y Ben disfrutan de Kongs congelados. Estos juguetes de goma se rellenan con carne y luego se congelan. A los perros les encanta tenerlos...
