The reveal of Adventurer team for 2025 will still wait a little while (so hold on to your horses 😁), but in the meanwhile, let’s meet our team of four Ambassadors ❤️

The newest members to our Ambassador team are Jessica, Cleo & Ogwen 🐶❤️You can follow their adventures 🥰 Jessica & her two adventurous Welsh collies love the outdoors & explore it together with dog dad Hayden ❤️

You might remember our second Ambassador family Hana, Chilli & Zazu from last year’s Ambassdor team ❤️ Their lovely, fun filled adventures you can follow 🐶 They love doing various sports together & also enjoy exploring the great outdoors🥰

Our third Ambassador family is just a big, fluffy ball of cuteness all rolled into one! 😍 Sabrina, Anthony, Marie, Rosie & Malu are always up for a family trip! You can follow their lovely explorations 🥰

When does your dog need a coat? 🐶❄️

Ensuring your dog's well-being is of utmost importance to any pet owner, and definitely for us here at Hurtta. As an essential family member and best friend, your dog deserves the best care possible. One way to ensure their comfort and safety during outdoor activities is by using a dog coat. But how do you know if your dog really needs a coat?

Not all fur provides adequate protection in all weather conditions. With breeds spread across climates far from their original habitats, some dogs aren't naturally equipped for the cold. Smaller breeds and those not adapted to freezing or windy weather may benefit from extra warmth.

Understanding the specific needs of your dog's breed helps you provide the best protection against varying weather conditions. Some dog breeds are not adapted to cold climates, and their coats do not offer enough warmth in freezing or windy weather. The size of the dog also plays a role in its tolerance to cold.

Winter hikes are the best! ❄️🐶

"Belgium, the famously flat country, occasionally treats us to a few snowy days in winter—a rare delight we never take for granted!

With Byyou, we never miss an opportunity to head out for a hike when the chance arises. That day, under a gloomy gray sky, the snow was making its final curtain call, but that didn’t stop us from fully enjoying the moment. Especially since Byyou and I were perfectly geared up to brave the cold. As for our kelpie? She was absolutely thrilled to see the snow again!

Dressed in her Extreme Overall parka, she zipped around doing endless “zoomies,” darting back and forth like the snow was her ultimate playground—all while staying snug and warm.

Here’s a quick tip for snowy adventures with your furry friend: always make sure to offer your dog plenty of water. Hydration is crucial, even in cold weather, and it’ll help keep them from munching on snow, which—spoiler alert—isn’t exactly a healthy snack for them."

”There’s always something magical about these last days of the year. Especially if the world around is covered in a blanket of snow. Growing up with a white Christmas, means for us this time of year is inextricably linked to having fun outdoors in the snow. Low temperatures and snow do ask for a little extra preparation: layering up properly, bringing micro spikes and/or snowshoes, keeping paws protected (with paw balm or booties), and bringing hot and/or insulated water. We usually also have handwarmers on us, they can make a life a lot more comfortable at low temperatures.

Here’s to a winter filled with amazing adventures outside. After all, spending time outdoors with your dog, really is the best kind of magic there is. Wishing you the most wonderful holidays © Marijke and Vos

Favourites for Vos during this time are: the warming midlayer eco, which is super comfy, and an absolute staple during the -ber months, on it’s own, or combined with the mudventure overall eco in case of deep, wet, sticky snow (against snow ball forming), or with the extreme overall for when the temperatures get really low. ”Christmas is coming and like each year, it’s always so much fun to include our dogs in this beautiful holiday. They get their own gifts and ofcourse a Christmas meal just like any other familymember.

Our tree is full of ornaments that are to them like portraits, pawprints and glass hearts filled with fur. All things we’ve loved to create over the years. Since we have big dogs are tree does have a ‘decoration line’ this is an imaginary line we draw in our christmastree and there should be no decorations under this line, otherwise their tails will knock it straight out 😂.

Having those big, clumsy dogs has taught me to not buy expensive or breakable ornaments (beside the hearts) but rather make them myself. Making ornaments yourself is a fun activity to do with family members or friends. Having dogs makes Christmas all the more fun but there are some things you have to take into account. Food and drinks on the coffee table aren’t safe from their swinging tails unfortunately and we’ve had some accidents happen in the past. Same goes with candles placed on ‘tail swinging’-height, we’ve all had the pleasure of smelling the aroma of burned tail hair in this house. But with a few small changes during the Christmas party, our dogs are able to join and they so do love to be included. Seeing them enjoy their gifts, meals and all the love they get make it worthwhile.

”Looking out the window and seeing the soft snowflakes falling and a little snow on the ground, I was immediately excited - and knew I’d be in for a day with lots of fun for Keela and I!

So of course we made sure to spend as much time as possible outside and went to one of Keela’s favorite spots, where she took off running, jumping, and rolling around in the snow - she was like a kid on Christmas morning. It was impossible not to smile watching her, so full of joy. She rolled at any chance, dove her fave into the snow and just frolicked to her hearts content. That’s the best feeling - seeing her so happy, and I swear, she could play out there all day if I let her. I love the peacefulness of a snowy day: the crisp air, the brightness and just being out in nature with Keela by my side. It feels like a perfect Christmas adventure.

For me, this time of year is all about the hygge and lots of traditions - whether outside on walks that help us slow down during the busy season, cuddles on the couch with tea or hot cocoa, baking cookies (of course from old family recipes) listening to Christmas music or watching Christmas movies. All those moments that make this holidays so special. And to be honest, I’m so glad I have the Hurtta Extreme Warmer III ECO to keep Keela warm while she’s out having her fun. It’s been a game changer for these cold (and wet) days, so we can just focus on enjoying our snowy adventures without worrying about her getting cold.
