Compared to normal pipe fences made of iron, aluminium’s advantage is its ability to resist corrosion. Wooden posts are vulnerable for decay and horses tend to chew them. Therefore the constant maintenance work might sometimes b
e an exhausting task. Aluminium pipes are a more durable choice and will allow you to spend less time on repair and more time to with your animals. Plastic fences often brake if temperature drops to extreme (Finnish) levels (-40c) and if the fence takes any minor hits. Aluminium pipes do not crack even at extremely low temperatures. THE ELECTRICITY PREVENTS ANIMALS FROM LEANING AGAINST THE FENCE
The electricity runs inside the horizontal pipes, therefore you will not need to attach any additional wires besides the wire that connects the fence to the charger. Aluminium posts are light and easy to install. Installation can be performed similarly as in the case of regular wooden posts. Start by making 40 cm deep holes to the ground with a land drill or a pinch bar and place the aluminium posts with the help of a fence post driver. Then place the horizontal pipes on their places, attach with the connection pieces and place insulators. SILBER fence fills all requirements for the welfare of the horses
It is clear that the horse fence must be safe for the horses and it must prevent the horses from escaping. Unfortunately, we often read news about injured horses, which are caught from driveways, where they pose a danger not only to themselves but also to traffic. Who is responsible for the damage if the horse injures itself while running towards the fence or running off into the driveway?
In most countries, the law is very clear on this matter. The horse's owner is responsible for the horse and its well-being. The fence must not pose a risk of injury to the horse, as wire fences do when they get tangled in the horse's legs, and it must prevent the horse from running away.
Thinking about all the unpleasant things that have come up this winter about the abuse of horses, it is especially good time to think about renewing horse fences from the horse welfare and owners responsibility point of view.

THE LATCH FUNCTIONS AS A CUT-OFF SWITCH AND IT IS EASY TO USE
The latch of the gate is functioning as a cut-off switch for the electricity. The electricity is switched off from the gate when the latch is open. By closing the latch the electricity returns to the gate. However, opening the latch doesn’t cut off electricity from other parts of the fencing.
