It's a shameful testament to the racing industry when beautiful horses like Eloise end up at the knackers yard because they're no longer any use.... and she is no exception either, There are many many ex-trotters who, once their racing usefulness has ceased, are discarded like rubbish. Disgusting. A kind friend rescued this lovely horse from the knacker man just because she couldn't bear to see her destroyed in the prime of her life and is looking for a forever home for her. Eloise is too big for my friend, but she would swap her for something smaller if anyone was interested. Eloise is 10 and standing at an impressive 17hh, but she is kind and very gentle and easy to handle. Please PM me if you could offer Eloise a caring, knowledgeable home. with an equine companion. Thanks.

After the howling winds and rain last night, we stepped out for a bracing walk in the aftermath. Tiger, I discovered, loves water!! All 35 kilo's of him splish, splash, splosh!! Whereas Paco ain't keen on leaving the sofa for love nor doggy treats!!

Reggie's diaries - well, what a load of rubbish this weather has been lately Reggie thinks. Reggie is more than happy to stay in his cosy bed, stuff walkies in this!! Mummy Selena thinks the same. She has been wearing some weird things - a blue thing on her head and some fluffy things that cover her ears, several layers that humans wear on their body, mummy Selena is in there somewhere Reggie thinks, he can just about see her face! Reggie has a fluffy layer too but he does not want to wear it. He wriggles and wriggles like a toddler reaching for the sweetie rack from his pushchair and it's impossible to get it on him,. HA HA Reggie thinks, he does not like his fluffy coat thank you very much! He feels stupid in it. Mummy Selena is very persistent ... and so Reggie is now wearing the stupid fluffy thing. Outside the equally stupid chasse are hunting. Reggie can hear the loud bangs again, it is pouring wet stuff and the wind is really strong. Hopefully they will get blown away mummy Selena says.
Daddy Ed is at it again - taking stones out of the walls and putting them back in a different place, why Reggie asks, what a waste of time. Reggie does not know that daddy Ed is building a fireplace and soon he will have a nice, new log burner to lie in front of. Not before time Reggie heard mummy Selena say! Reggie is bored, like everyone else he longs for the summer when he can get out and enjoy walks without the wet stuff.
Reggie did have an exciting moment this week. Mummy Selena did not see the gate was open and in Reggie went, straight in amongst the Rams. They ran everywhere, what fun, but Reggie heard mummy Selena doing the red faced shouty thing and knew he had to come back and then ... he felt a really sharp pain in his back leg and he could only use 3 of his 4 legs. It's happened alot lately. Mummy Selena usually stretches it for Reggie and it goes back to normal but today, because Reggie was extra excited, he was twisting and turning now it hurts. Mummy Selena squirted some YUKKY stuff in Reggie's mouth and a bit later he felt fine again. There was talk of visiting the vets, Reggie does not like the vet with her sharp death pins and does not want to go there again. Hopefully his leg will just be ok with stretching Reggie thinks. Keep warm and cosy all.

I wish all my clients a happy new year and thank you for your wonderful support and welcoming me into your homes to look after your beloved pets. It's always an honour and privilege. It has been a very successful year for me, so much so that I am full for all of 2025!! There will no doubt be a few cancellations, life is life, so feel free to contact me but I can only take on new clients if there is a cancellation or you are local to Vire and want dates that don't collide with previously booked ones. Sadly our lovely companion for Prince has trotted off to the paddock in the sky, after months battling against Cushings and Laminitis. I managed the situation as well and for as long as I could. The vet was very respectful and kind, the whole process took minutes without trauma, to her, bless you Nelly.

Our Story

I offer an affordable alternative to sending your beloved pets to kennels. I work during the week so I’ve decided to focus on a ‘long weekender’ service as many people just want a weekend break and often find pet sitters booked on longer term assignments.

I am very experienced with most animals - dogs/cats/horses/goats/sheep/cows/pigs and confident in most situations having worked as an Equine Veterinary Nurse for nearly 5 years in the UK. We have always had a menagerie at the family home, to me, home isn’t home without them!
