I survived heat stroke, I think it was good luck.
I went walking outside in the heat, my owner didn’t give a ****!

I kept going, wanted to please, panted hard to stay cool.
I thought I might collapse but my owner kept throwing the ball.

If I was old and overweight I may of been dead, but my owner would rather walk me then let me relax in the house instead.

I survived heat stroke, but I think my owner is a fool.
Next time could be the last time. Let me stay home and keep cool.

There are a number of breeds/crossbreeds that will require regular trips to the groomer. For some every 6 weeks is haircut day!

We need to make the experience for them as pleasant as possible, some dogs love their salon days, others are not so keen.

To make their experience better start them young! Under 6 months is ideal before their weariness/anxiety kicks in.

Leaving it too long can result in a matted coat. This would make them feel extremely uncomfortable and make the first groom experience a more intense and possibly uncomfortable one. So again, start them young!

By starting them young you can also learn from your groomer how to maintain your dogs coat in between grooms.

I work with an awesome skin vet, I get to learn lot of tips! One is to wash your itchy dog regularly.

Guess we are always lead to believe washing too regularly takes oils away from the skin. Well these itchy dogs need bathing to wash those allergens away! It'll help their skin. Quite like a bit of bathing with cool nettle tea, but their are lots of great shampoos availble too.

The first trip to your chosen groomer should be a lovely one. Not left matted for months making it an uncomfortable one. This is a life long relationship for some dogs, make it a great experience.

Young dogs need to be exposed to different experiences and the sooner the better. Give them that puppy pamper.

Butternut squash, one super food for our dogs! Cheap, full of vitamins, and fibre. An amazing food to offer our lovely friends.

Great for our senior dogs too!

It's a little thing to do but a big difference it'll make!

Please keep your dog's eyes clean, it helps with comfort and well-being.

Any changes to the eye should be checked by your vet including excessive tears.

Keep a saucer on top of the tea as it is brewing...

Use it as a wash, even on areas stung by nettles, although washing those first with pet shampoo to remove the hairs left by nettles, can make it even more powerful!

It is tempting to clean and clean! But the more you clean those waxy ears, the more wax is encouraged to build up!!

For very waxy ears you can clean daily but then start to move to every other day, weekly then fortnightly if possible. The less cleaning, the better.

Apple cider vinegar (with the mother) mixed with half cooled boiled water makes a fab ear cleaner.

If they smell bad and/or look very red get them checked by your vet.
