The Twilight Retirement Home for Dogs is a registered association providing an oasis of love and tranquillity in a family home for old, sick and disabled dogs.

It’s about having the best of life to the very moment of crossing the Rainbow Bridge. Assoc Twilight W242001328

Twilight was established in 2009 and since then has seen more than 300 dogs pass through its gates. It has inspired many people to welcome an old or disabled dog into their life. Nestled in the verdant countryside of the French Perigord Vert, this is the family home of Leeanne and Mich

ael Whitley. They were inspired to create Twilight after losing their elderly dog Kizzy, and needing to find a friend for their remaining happy retriever, Teg. It became evident, searching the pounds and refuges, that if you were an old dog, life was not always so good, and your ending might be premature and/or without dignity. Twilight now provides all that a dog needs to make him or her as well and as comfortable as possible for their remaining days.

🌈🌈🌈 Jeff 🌈🌈🌈

It is with the heaviest heart I have to share that our little delicious Jeff did not make it through the night after his surgery. The splenectomy had gone well, the tumour (which I saw) was huge. He had pain but seemed to settle well. Sadly though it had clearly all been too much and he passed, likely a heart attack. I feel very sad for him, I believed he had some more time to share that gorgeous waggy tail. But, it was not meant to be. Run free now you gorgeous boy. We didn’t know you for long, but your beautiful spirit touched us all. Know you crossed the bridge with all our love. ###

My rock and delicious husband, daddy Twilight, can do very little now physically or indeed mentally. But he is a constant and endless source of love not just for me but for all the puds. He is rarely seen without lap company. He just wanted to thank you himself for all you all do in so many ways … here is my Michael ### ❤❤❤

❤❤❤William update❤❤❤ Isn’t he just so handsome. The vet was concerned we would find the “no eyes” look alarming. We think he is even more delicious! He is so happy and no grumps, it is fabulous, clearly without pain. Unfortunately eating remains a challenge. Even the fresh chicken, ham and salmon have to catch him at the right times, but when we do he loves it. So work it progress, but his eye stitches are healing really well.
