UPDATE! This lovely girl is now on her way home in Chez Cartaud. Love a happy ending. X

Just another day in France, with random wonky donkeys passing by the house..🤣.. Seriously, if any of our friends in the area know of anyone missing a rather raggy girlie, please let me know. I've caught her and have her secure in a field with Heather and Gordon for now.

Hi lovely hoomans, Mrs Maisel here.
My servants friend Zoe has started a rescue for abandoned kittens around Chef Boutonne and desperately needs help with funds for food and their doctors bills too.

Whilst it's Obvs I'm quite clearly not of feral lineage, my annoying adopted baby bother Denis-Pen*s-Le-Menace is. So whilst he's quite annoying, he's not as bad as those idiot Bursian boys i also live with, so I will tolerate him as Denis had a bit of a rough start.

What would be quite fab though, is if you could offer support by giving funds to their gofundme campaign, donate food, or share the posts from Chef Boutonne Kitten Rescue, so these little tykes can go on to be as lucky as our annoying sh*tten is, living his best life, being loved adored by my servants.....

They shall however be verily and regularly punished for such disloyalty to their No 1 princess in residence. 😹😹😹

Today we have rescued 3 kittens, follow their story with us ❤️ Aujourd'hui, nous avons sauvé trois chatons. Suivez leur histoire avec nous.

Hi everyone. Mrs Maisel was loving being outside again today for the 1st time in 7 weeks..... we still can't believe how well she's recovering.
Her mobility is amazing, particularly considering the extent of her injuries. Dr Robin and Dr Paris at Beaulieu Clinique in Poitiers did the most amazing job and we can't thank them enough.

All round, a day of joy and happiness seeing our girl happy and playful once again.....🩷😻🩷

Just a quick update...
Our beautiful funny girl and her fabulously naughty brother "Pongo playing in the stars" are 3 years old today.

Mrs Maisel is spending her birthday in the care of the neuro specialist vet in Poitiers who will be operating on her ladyship tomorrow morning.

He gave us some amazing news...….. she was actually trying to use the previously paralysed leg, so that was just bloody fantastic. She also had some control of her tail too, of which she had none on Monday. The down side is, she's still fully incontinent.

He talked us through the whole complex procedure he's got to carry out to rebuild her rear end, as not only has she got multiple breaks to her hip, she has also got a broken p***c bone, a dislocated leg, plus he found a gaping hole under some blood / poo matted fur which our original Vet hadn't even seen.....

She'd got blood and poo smeared down the side of her flank from the accident, which had crusted dry and not been cleaned off by the original vets, so Dr Robin of the Clinic Beaulieu in Poitiers was cleaning her off and inspecting the wound when we got there...… we're livid that no one from our usual vets had even bothered to clean her up and see this gaping hole which needed 2 staples to close it.

So because of this, Dr Robin put her on a course of IV antibiotics too.
He was absolutely brilliant and we feel totally confident in him, but there is a price to pay and which we will be finding a way by hook or by crook, but I've told him to do whatever it takes to get our baby girl back home again.

Please send all your kind healing thoughts to Maisel and bless my beautiful blue eyed boy in heaven ###

Hi you wonderful kittie loving friends. Just thought I'd share a quick update following our visit to see Maisel yesterday.

Sadly, the damage is worse than we were initially told.
The ilium joint is broken too and on both sides, as is the sacrum, so she has to be operated on urgently and we won't know for weeks, once the swelling has subsided, if there is permanent nerve damage. At the moment, she does respond to touch on her left rear leg, but nothing in the right leg and tail. Nor can she control her bladder either.

So, it's not good news I'm afraid, but on the positive, she was far more alert, responded when she heard our voices and purred when I loved her.

We have our medical at the OFFI in Poitiers this morning, so my dear friend Linda Davidson is collecting Maisel from Melle, then meeting us at the clinic Beaulieu also in Poitiers, where the specialist neuro-surgeon will be operating on her on Friday.

After everything she's been through, this is a bloody nightmare we never thought we'd go through, as she rarely leaves the garden since she found her way home.

So our focus now is to get Maisel back home, get this house ready for sale ASAP and try to keep our new business moving forward.

Sending our deepest gratitude, plus love and hugs to you all. ###

Please can I ask you lovely friends & to send all your healing thoughts and love to our beautiful baby girl, the much loved Marvellous Mrs Maisel ❤️

Maisel was run over on Monday by some utter bast**d who callously drove over her, then left her on the road. Our poor broken baby then dragged herself 20 yards, getting halfway as she couldnt walk, but screaming in agony.

She's at the vets and alive, but not in a good way at all
From what the vet can see, she has a completely snapped hip, her spine seems to be OK, but he's concerned about the base of it where it meets the hip.... it looks damaged, but still attached, so she can't use one leg and no feeling in her tail either.

He says she's in a critical state and deeply in shock, her gums are pure white.

They did an ultrasound and couldn't see any internal bleeding at the moment, but may be a haematoma on her bladder.
He's given her morphine, anti-inflammatories and fluids for the shock.

Vet says if she can poo and p*e, it will be a good indication if there's a chance she'll survive and should know within 3 days, but right now, it's not looking great for this amazingly funny beautiful girl.

Martin and I are beyond devastated once again and leaving her when shes in such a terrible state was just heartbreaking. 💔💔💔

Having already lost Pongo on this (not awfully busy) nearby road, so I'm selling this bloody bad luck bungalow asap.

She'll be the death of me this one will! 🙀😹😹😹

Morning fantastic feline fanatic friends.
We've had a few messages kindly asking how Mme Maisel's doing, so wanted to share a quick update and she's doing brilliantly.
She's put all her weight back on and now weighs more than ever, as she doesn't want to go off hunting any longer, so only nips outdoors for a few minutes fresh air, then wants to come back indoors.

Her Savannah instincts have returned though and she needs to climb high up on anything she can, so she now has 2 beds sat on top of the kitchen cupboards, as that's her happy place.... plus Albus and Lilac Len can't get to torment her up there either. 😹.

Thanks so much to everyone who's enquired about our gorgeous girl, you're all so kind and we're blessed to be part of a community of such wonderfully kind people in France. X

Hi lovely folks.
Just a quick update.
Mrs Maisel is definitely on the mend now and has managed to put some weight back on... Having been spoilt rotten (as usual), her ladyship is currently refusing to eat much else other than chopped chicken leg meat or tuna.

We've been giving her lots of both as they're high in calories to help build her back up again, along with kitten food (which she's not impressed with) and it does appear to be working, she's starting to fill out nicely.

She's still sleeping lots, but is far more alert and brighter in herself.... she was even trying to get outside for the first time yesterday, but she's not going out just yet, she needs to be in full fitness first.

Her Burmese / Asian brothers "from another mother", Albus and Lilac Len now seem to know she's on the mend, so see her as fair game and are tormenting the flipping life out of her..... The Bursian Boyzes are very loving, cheeky and SO naughty, but have us in stitches with their mad antics😹..... However, her majesty is most certainly not amused and let's them know in the most certain terms. 😾

Thank you to everyone who's asked for an update on our girl, it's very kind and thoughtful of you.

With love.
Annie and Martin, plus big purrs and kittie kisses from Mrs Maisel, Albus and Lennie.😽😽😽 X

Hi everyone. Many of you beautiful people have been asking how Mrs Maisel is doing, so we wanted to give you all a quick update.
She's not been awfully well since she returned, resulting in a visit to the vets yesterday.
She is dreadfully lethargic, sleeping round the clock and has a lump on the side of her tummy. Plus she shat on Martin during the night.... thankfully they were in the snoring room and not with me. 🤢🤮🤢😹.

The vet was very nice, but didn't instill much confidence in me, humming and aarring about the cause of the lump and reason her having the squits, (which she kindly demonstrated to him on the table, as he squeezed her tummy. 😹).

He did an ultrasound and still couldn't make his mind up, so he decided it must be an undigested mouse, which she would've caught at least 2 days ago and caused enteritis.

He tried to give her 3 different injections, but she wasn't having that and absolutely exploded leaving us all with various puncture wounds, but she was totally traumatised, the poor girl.

Maisel's lost almost 25% of her body weight and now only 3.250kg, so we've got some work to do on building her back up. The vet didn't offer any advice or suggestions which may help, so we'll speak to our friends in the Outdoor Bengal group for advice.

On the positive, she's more alert today, scoffing cooked chicken thighs for the calorific factor and resolutely refusing to eat anything with her meds in.... so in essence, she's clearly getting her old self back. 🤣.

She's back! Thanks so much to everyone for all your help with searching and sharing.

We have news! MAISEL IS HOME!!!!!! WOO EFFIN HOO!!!! ###
I just can't believe it. This is the best thing to happen to us for yonks! It's utterly amazing and I can't stop my eyes from leaking.

Our 2 Asian boyzes have been kept indoors for the past 2 weeks since Pongo was killed, but they've been SO distressed at being incarcerated, so we took Albus and Lennie for a walk over the fields, in hope to show them life beyond the road (where Pongo was killed and which they're constantly running towards), to try and encourage them to go play where its safe.

We left them and kept checking the app and they were staying where we left them, or occasionally dipping in to the wood, but then walked them home and kept them in for a while.

We had just taken them outside to walk them over to the area between the village and the wood again this evening, then I heard Martin shouting her name.

He said there's a brown spotted cat, but I don't think it's her. I took one look and legged it down the lane calling her..... she came running up the road crying and squawking. She is SO SO skinny.

I honestly think she's picked up the boyzes scent and found her way home.

I honestly can't believe she's back, but she's here in all her glory and we're cracking the bloody champagne tonight.

Thank you to everyone who's been kind enough to help us find our girl. We've been so genuinely humbled by the love and kindness shown to us by everyone who came to search for Maisel or help us by constantly sharing our posts.
Thank you a million times from the bottom, top, sides and insides of our broken hearts.

We're still grieving for our beautiful mad crazy bonkers boy, but having Maisel home will now help start the healing process X

Please can you help us find our little girl by sharing this post. She escaped 16th August in Villaret near Sauzé-Vaussais and Marie L'Evescault (Dept 79), just off the Melleran road and we're utterly devastated.

We've only just arrived at our new home on Tuesday 15th August our little Savannah x Bengal girl Mrs Maisel has escaped the day after, pushing through the fly screen to get out. She's clearly had another fight with her brother, during which, he's managed to pull her tracker off, so we can't locate her and absolutely devastated.

She's very easy to recognise due to her striking spotted glitter fur, rather like a mini cheetah, equally as fast and skilled at scaling trees.

Mrs Maisel will be running scared as she has no idea of her surroundings and trying to find the only place she knew as home, which is in the UK, but she is an outdoor cat and a prolific hunter, so will be self sufficient as far as food goes, but the lack of available water in this heat is a huge cause for concern.

She is wary of people she doesn't know and therefore unlikely to come to someone calling her, so if anyone has sight of our beautiful girl, please message or call either me urgently on 00447932034753 or Martin on 00447814736417.

We will gladly reward anyone who can offer information leading to the safe return of our baby girl.
Many thanks.

I can't believe I'm writing this, but yesterday evening some utter f*cking evil Bast**d ran our beautiful funny boy over (Mrs Maisel's Brother Pongo), killing him as he was walking down the side of the road. They then just drove off and left him.
We may be wrong, but the tyre marks in the grass where he was killed would indicate they swerved to hit him deliberately.

I feel like we're in the most dreadful nightmare and can't wake up from it.

Pongo was only two years old and had the most massive personality, which was both challenging and absolutely hilarious in equal measures, but above all his twattery and bravado, he loved his Mummy and I bloody loved the bones of my funny beautiful boy.

To say Martin and I are utterly broken would be an understatement.
Dealing with Mrs Maisel escaping the day after arriving in France has been horrendous, but there are no words to describe how it feels to now have lost both our two amazing babies in less than 4 weeks.

Good night god bless, you go lightly to chase the stars my handsome cheeky baby boy. Mummy will come looking for you when it's my time.
RIP our darling beautiful Pongo. 💔💔💔
