The weather is hotting up again and earlier walks have already begun …. ☀️
A reminder that I am available 24/7 should anyone have any health concerns in this heat … I also have AC in my home so if any of your pups are struggling they are always welcome here to get some respite ♥️

A very sad day here at Herts Hiking Hounds 😔 One of our golden oldies Finn has crossed over the rainbow bridge 🕊️
Although Finn was an old chap, he always had a glimmer is eye and was so eager to go out on his walks with Mel.
He will be missed so much and we send our sincerest condolences to his family during this difficult time.
Rest easy Finny boy ♥️ it was a pleasure to have known you 🩵

Warm weather incoming! ☀️☀️🔥☀️☀️
This week is looking very hot ….. especially from Wednesday onwards.
So we will be moving all walks forward to earlier times….. I have asked the ladies to be finished walks by 10am on Weds, Thursday and Friday. I understand a lot of pups we walk need their day broken up more around midday so we can offer home visits around this time.
Please let us know if you require this instead of an early morning walk.
Thank you for your understanding - as always your dogs health and safety is our number one priority 🩷

I think Lily was tired after her walk today 😂Lily started with me over a month ago now and she has taken a liking to ride right next to me in the car 🥰 (the passenger seat is too far away apparently 😂)(Don’t worry she is clipped onto the pink seatbelt and my phone is in a holder 😉) We love you Lily! 🩷

Also a reminder about the heat ….. ☀️ I am very strict when it comes to the dogs safety and with warmer temps now approaching I wanted to reassure all of our clients that we will not walk your dogs in any temps over 23 degrees. Anything slightly lower than this your dogs will be walked in shaded areas (at least direct sunlight as possible).
We provide lots of water, ban any ball throwing! And keep a close eye on all of them at all times.
If the temperatures are hot then we will ask if we can move your walk forward when it’s cooler or offer a home visit more in the middle of the day.
I will also post in the comments,signs of heat stroke in dogs so you know what to look out for.
If you have any health concerns about your dog in the heat please message me anytime
