📍Advanced Warning!

We have a Bank Holiday coming up on the 26th of August, which means that the shop will be closed, as will the Market itself, as normal.
We will also remain closed for the Tuesday 27th!

Due to the BH, our livefood will be delivered a day later (on the Wednesday) so please allow for this on your next weeks order. 🙂 Any dry stock required for the Wednesday, please let us know in advance where possible to ensure its all ready for when we return.

Sunday Mission complete!
100 mile round trip, with some amazing views on a glorious day! A bit of off-roading and getting lost (several times) 🤣, and we won't mention the roadworks 🥴 but all worth it.

We want to personally thank the staff at Jenkins and Sons, Aunty Carolyn, Aunty Christine, Aunty Celyn, Aunty Anne, Uncle Tony, and all our customers and anonymous donaters who have contributed in the money boxes, and donated items over the last few months (most in memory of those who have sadly gone over the rainbow bridge 🐾 🌈 ).

Thinking about going fishing this week? 🎣

🪱 We have plenty of Dendrobaena Worms (earthworms) available. 🪱

➡️The most common worm used for fishing is the Dendrobaena worm, depending on what type of fish you are trying to attract.
➡️Dendrobaenas are used in both natural and commercial venues, to attract Tench, Chub, perch Roach and Carp.
➡️Most anglers will hook dendrobaenas straight on the hook. Some will chop them up and mix them into groundbaits to create a choppie mix. This will then either be balled in or used in method feeders.
➡️Each tub will last 7-10 days minimum, and best kept in cooler conditions. They can last for weeks providing they are kept and fed appropriately, and where temperatures do not fluctuate.

These are £2.50 a tub.

Saturday August 3rd marks the opening of the Aberdare Park Road Races 🏁 (televised this year), the start of the Eisteddfod in Pontypridd 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 and, last, but by no means least, the first ever ABBADARE - a free screening of Mamma Mia on Library Square 🎶!!

✨️To coincide with this spectacular day, Aberdare Market Tenants Association is holding a Family Fun Day, from 10am onwards. Come along and enjoy the day to the full, before strolling up to Library Square for a song and a boogie! Fun for all the family!✨️

This is our first event on the Yard this year and the Market Tenants have worked tirelessly to provide a FREE event for the Aberdare Community. Why not have a wander around the market while you are there. Creature Comforts is inviting pet owners to help mark the UK's first ever National Pet Shop Day by popping along to the shop to see what we have to offer and take advantage of some amazing discounts on the day!

On Saturday 13th July 2024, Pet Shops across the UK will be throwing open their doors to showcase the many services, products, and valuable support they pride themselves on providing to their local pet-owning communities. The team at Creature Comforts in Aberdare, based within Aberdare Market Quarter are gearing themselves up for a fun fur, feathers, and fin-filled celebration alongside both new and existing customers!

"Pets are our passion, and we are incredibly proud of our position on the high street in our town, being able to share our knowledge, experience and advice on common minor pet healthcare issues.

Okay guys so, if you are local to Aberdare you may have heard about the recent enclosed area that has been set up for dogs based in the Country Park. We of course, had to test it out with our little one! Take a little look at our reel in the feed below ⬇️

Where is it?
Dare Valley Country Park
Aim for Bwllfa Road, Cwmdare. Drive toward the entrance to the country park (lake end).
Take the left just before the entrance (where the bus turns around) and you will find a small carpark.
To your right, there is an opening through the bushes and just head straight through and the enclosed area is right in front of you!

🐾 General Information 🐾
There are 2 sections to the enclosed area. Gates either end, with one in the middle also.
Reasonably sized for all breeds.
Perfectly suitable to safely play fetch/practise training/have zoomies/playdates.
P**p bin attached to the immediate fence.
Fencing is approximately 4foot tall around.

Not a criticism, but we did notice that where the middle fence posts join the exterior fence, there is a small gap behind that perhaps a cheeky little toy breed may be able to scooch into next door - just to bare that in mind. 🙂

We personally think this facility is a great asset to have in the area. It is FREE, and for anyone to use. Please remember to be respectful of other users, and we hope that anyone visiting leaves it how they expect it to be on arrival! ✌️
As with any normal walkies and exercise, don't forget those p**p bags and fresh water.
