So proud of my two groups today absolutely smashing their habituation session, all these poochies are doing so well 🙌🏼👏🏼

Some of this weeks gorgeous team 😍
The gorgeous Choco lab is joining the training team, nothing major just some general obedience training to get her back on track, isn’t she cute?⭐️
Then I caught up with trouble 1 and 2, the English bulldog girls, we were working on recall and they have been absolutely smashing their training since starting their bespoke plan, super proud 💜💜
The gorgeous Frenchie girl was in for her loose lead walking training, as well as introducing a down and a “back” command, this was her first session of her bespoke plan and she did so well 💜
Next up was the super handsome American Bully cross boy, I am besotted with this guy, this was his first proper training session and he is doing so so well 💙
Then next up was the handsome Goldendoodle who was in for a catch up session, adolescence is certainly in full force with this boy, but patience and a couple of little changes to handling and he’s doing well again 💙

Then my handsome home boarding boy arrived, it’s been a while since I last saw him so I am happy to have him back to his second home for his holibobs, off on our first adventure of many this morning!🥺💙

Then my duo for my morning walk 💙💙
Next up was the gorgeous Frenchie who was in for a catch up session, he is doing so well 💙
Then one of my walking duos was in for a training walk, adolescence is hitting with him and he’s getting very over excited with the world but patience is key and it is certainly paying off 💙
Then the handsome rescue boy from Cyprus was in for his consultation to join the training team, before he was rescued he had a broken jaw but despite a poor start in life, he is such a friendly guy ⭐️
Then the American bully cross was in for his consultation, I cannot wait to see the progress this boy makes and he is just beautiful ⭐️
Then I’m back doing my cat sit with the gorgeous girl who’s parents are enjoying their holidays 🐈

I just love these two so much 🥹
These two girls were in for another session today, they are going from strength to strength and I can’t believe the progress they are making!
We still have some work to do, but they are smashing everything that has been set in their training plan! Couldn’t be prouder seeing one of them walking on a beautiful loose lead while engaging so beautifully with her owners today! Absolutely smashing it 🥹💜✨

I think this gorgeous girl was ready for a nap by the end of her Friday morning training session! 🫣
I’m not surprised as she worked super hard on some impulse control, and some new methods to try and reduce the behaviour of her jumping up at owners so much!

Does anyone else’s dog nap and sleep after training sessions?!

The poochies that I remembered to take photos of last week 😳

The super handsome GSD and the Goldendoodle are joining the training team after being in for their consultations last week and I can’t wait to get started with them! ⭐️⭐️

The little tooty Westiepoo was in for her second training session where we were focussing on training in the real world, she smashed it 🫶🏼

The handsome Havenese was in for a trial visit for home boarding, he’s a sensitive little soul so taking it slowly at getting him comfortable but he definitely grew in confidence while he was with me for a few hours 💙

Then my two usual culprits for their morning walkies, causing chaos as usual 🥺💙💙

And that’s a wrap for this week, now time to focus on studying for my next lot of exams for my behaviour course! On that note, if you are looking to get booked in for a training session next week, please get in touch asap as I have limited availability remaining so I can leave time for studying, so get in touch to avoid pushing back any sessions for another week 😬

The two beautiful bulldogs were in for their second session of their bespoke training plan and they are absolutely smashing it 💜💜

Next up was the gorgeous Australian Labradoodle who was in for his first session of his bespoke plan, he is super quick to learn so I can’t wait to see the progress 💙

Then was the beautiful Frenchie. He was in for his first session of his bespoke plan, even after only a week of his owners following my advice from the consultation and making little changes he is doing so well and there’s a noticeable change in him! Can’t wait to see what else we achieve! 💙

I also had a session with a gorgeous Daschund who I couldn’t get a picture of but he responded really well to the first training session, we have some work ahead of us but I have no doubt 💙

Then the gorgeous Frenchie who was in for her consultation to get her bespoke training plan, I can’t wait to start working with this girl as she’s an absolute bundle of positive energy. Welcome to the team gorgeous ⭐️💜
(Ps she is actually the first frenchies sister from the same litter! Don’t they look alike?!)

Almost a full day of spaniels 🥺

First up for training today was the gorgeous cocker spaniel, she was in for her first session of her bespoke training plan where we introduced a verbal marker, introduced sofa boundaries and a settle command. She did so well, and she was quite literally falling asleep during the training session as we worked her brain so much 🥺
Her little brother also joined in the session 💜💙

Next up, I had an onboarding consultation with the gorgeous 13 week old cocker spaniel who will be joining the training team, I can’t wait to get working with this boy as he’s adorable and such a good puppy. Welcome to the team little man ⭐️💙

Then a check in session with the beautiful golden retriever, she is definitely pushing boundaries a little bit at the moment, but we continue to stay consistent and patient with her, and all the hard work will pay off 💜

This lot absolutely smashed their neutral walks today, all of these dogs can be nervous so we have been working really hard on helping them become more comfortable around other dogs and building positive associations in the presence of other dogs through counter conditioning and desensitisation!
Super proud of all of these dogs who have been coming to the Saturday morning groups and they’ve graduated, minus a couple who are on their holibobs🥺

Todays training cuties 🫶🏼

Firstly I had a longer session with the two bulldogs, we were working on introducing verbal markers, teaching a down, introducing loose lead walking and topping up their existing engagement skills! This was the first session of their bespoke training plan and they both did so well 💜💜
Then I had a catch up training session with the Frenchie, we are continuing to work on building positive associations around people and dogs, and he is absolutely smashing it! His confidence since starting training has improved so much and we are working on reducing distances now 💙

A little update from yesterdays training sessions -

Firstly we had the handsome scruffy cross boy, he was in for his loose lead walking session, it was his first time at an enclosed field and we managed to introduce the steps to loose lead walking, we also practised him coming back when he’s called and worked on some confidence building 💙
Then I had my first puppy session with the gorgeous lab puppy, this was my first time meeting her as the first time I met her owners we were doing the puppy starter session to get them prepared for her coming home, and yesterday we worked on building positive associations with her harness and conditioned her to the lead as well as her harness, isn’t she gorgeous? 💜
Then I had a FaceTime catch up call with the two staffy crosses that I work with, we had a catch up about how the free shaping with their crates was going so that more naps can be reinforced to reduce the two boys becoming over stimulated with play, and we looked at discussing our next training steps 💙💙

Would you believe me if I told you this was the same dog?
This handsome guy had to have an unexpected surgery but due to spending time in the vets his coat got quite matted and he was in need of a fresh groom to start growing out his hair again. Doesn’t he look like a totally different dog??
I couldn’t help but giggle when I went in for him yesterday 🥺

2/3 of yesterdays cuties!

Firstly I met with a Llhasa Apso who is joining the training team, she will be getting her bespoke training plan shortly, and we will get to work 🫶🏼⭐️

Then the beautiful Westiepoo was in for her first session of her bespoke training plan, we were working on verbal markers, a settle and some management methods to help change some negative associations into positive associations, she is so clever💜

Next up was the Frenchie, isn’t he cute?? 🥺
The Frenchie was in for his consultation to join the training team, I can’t wait to see what we achieve with this boy, welcome to the team 🫶🏼⭐️

Fridays 2 gorgeous poochies 💙💙

The GSD is joining the training team, and underwent his consultation on Friday to get his bespoke training plan, I can’t wait to see the progress we achieve with this boy, and isn’t he stunning? I’m a sucker for a GSD, absolutely adore them 🫶🏼⭐️
Then the handsome goldie boy was back in for his next training session, he is such a huge character and it is so difficult to not just laugh at him during training sessions because his personality shines through 💙

Ready for another week of gorgeous ongoing clients, and some newbies who will be undergoing their consultations to join the team 🫶🏼👏🏼

As so many people know, rescue is my background, so back at it again!

Do I have anyone on my page who is a child free and pet free home for this boy? A foster place, or even an adoption home would be amazing 🫶🏼
If he is homed locally, I will happily be involved in all training that is required for this boy if we can get him safe.

And just like that…. Kaela’s K9 Training turns 2 🎉🎁

What an amazing 2 years this has been, I am living my dream working with dogs, and helping support the dogs and their families to live in harmony.

Thank you to previous clients, ongoing clients and future clients for continuing to trust me with your dogs whether it is for training or home boarding 🐾

I am just getting started and I can’t wait for the business to continue growing, and all the things that are to come in the next year or so 👏🏼

My cheeky home boarded dog and my two girls loved a run around this weekend at an enclosed field.

As most know, I do have my reactive girl and my quiet, independent girl. Enclosed fields are great for my nervous pooch to just run as free as she likes without the risk of running into triggers (these reactions are few and far between nowadays as she handles herself a lot better now), and my littlest doesn’t really enjoy enclosed fields, but they both had a great time running around with their house guest this weekend (their little house guest isn’t allowed off lead, so an enclosed field is perfect for him).

Ever feel like you’re being watched?

Some might recognise this handsome chap 💙 I had to say good bye to him due to the business changing, however it didn’t work out with his new dog walker, so he’s back with me 🥹🥰 Here’s a little video of our reunion, the bond between a dog and their walker is like no other 💙

This handsome dude was a rescue dog who got surrendered by his family due to his extreme reactivity to anything that moved, cyclists, people, dogs, motorbikes, cars, buses etc! He came to me for foster care and to see if I could help rehabilitate his reactivity. He’s not perfect, but he’s significantly better than what he was, his engagement with his handler built, he was more interested in what his next instructions were than looking for something to react to. I got him to a point where he would check out people, dogs etc and then he would check back in. Good luck in your forever home 💙💙💙 Reactive dogs are so widely misunderstood and labelled aggressive dogs, but this isn’t the case. All they are doing is reacting to whatever the source is that is worrying them, or that they are frightened of. 9 times out of 10, these dogs are so loving and wonderful, but there’s been a root cause to cause them to become reactive, whether they had a scare as a young puppy, they may come from a neglectful and abusive background. Please don’t be so quick to judge reactive dogs.

Picture this…… We’ve all seen it, a very typical, excitable puppy out on a walk, jumping around like a little spring, shark teeth in action, and pulling on the lead to get to where they’re going faster, because after all, the world is super exciting for puppies 🐾👀 But now, after less than an hour of training with Kaela’s K9’s, we have a calm, fully engaged, patient puppy who is watching their owners for the next instruction. It is key that any puppy can be as fully engaged with each of the guardians to ensure for consistency. ACTIVATE FULL PUPPY BEAST MODE 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 What an unbelievably intelligent pup this handsome man is 🐾🐾🐾
