Say hi to Dylan, our awesome Shop Supervisor and Raw Advisor here at Grampian Pet Services! Dylan’s always around to help you find the best food, treats, and gear for your pets and share advice on raw feeding.

🐾 At home, Dylan has three dogs, all completely different sizes and breeds—but here’s the twist: they’re all scared of Penny, his tiny pug with a big attitude! His lurcher, Scout, would probably say, “Why do we have Penny, and does she have to stay?”

🐕 If Dylan were a dog, he reckons he’d be a lurcher—random bursts of energy followed by lots of chilling out.

🚨 MYTH BUSTED: Raw Feeding & Bacteria 🐾

One of the biggest misconceptions about raw feeding is that it’s harmful because of bacteria. Let’s clear this up:

➡️ Fact: Most Dogs and cats have digestive systems designed to handle raw meat. Their highly acidic stomachs can neutralize bacteria like salmonella and E. coli.

➡️ Proper handling is key! Always wash your hands before and after handling raw meat, just as you would when preparing meals for yourself.

➡️ Many commercial raw diets also undergo strict safety measures like freezing or pathogen testing to ensure they’re safe for your pets.

When done correctly, raw feeding is not only safe but provides a species-appropriate, nutrient-rich diet that can support better health and vitality for your furry friends. 🌟

We’re excited to introduce Calum, one of our enthusiastic and approachable Shop Assistants at Grampian Pet Services! Calum has been part of the team for about two and a half months, and he’s already making a big impact with his friendly service and dedication to helping customers.

🐾 Calum is a proud pet parent to Ruud, his playful Staffordshire Bull Terrier. Ruud is full of personality, with a unique talent for climbing onto windows and cupboards—a real adventurer!

⚽ Outside of work, Calum is passionate about football and holds a season ticket for Aberdeen. He describes himself as sporty, nice, and approachable, so be sure to say hello next time you’re in the shop!

🚨 Did You Know? 🚨

Leopard geckos have a fascinating survival instinct—they can “drop” their tails when they feel threatened! 🦎

When faced with danger, these clever reptiles release their tail as a distraction, allowing them to escape from predators. The dropped tail wiggles, grabbing the predator’s attention while the gecko makes a quick getaway!

While it’s an incredible defense mechanism, regrowing the tail takes time and energy, so it’s important to handle your gecko gently and avoid unnecessary stress.

We’re excited to introduce Natasha, our amazing Shop Supervisor and Raw Advisor at Grampian Pet Services! Natasha has been part of the GPS family for around 1.5 years, but she’s been a loyal customer even longer!

🐾 When she’s not helping you choose the best raw food and pet products, Natasha is busy caring for her four Dobermans—Bruce, Zira, Bella, and Cia. Her passion for the breed shines through, and she even competed at Crufts 2024! She also has a tortoise named Pebbles and a Crested Gecko called Mushu.

✨ What would her pets say about her if they could talk? Probably something like, “You don’t give us enough snacks or pets!”—though we’re sure Natasha takes home plenty of treats for her crew every night! 😂
