One of our feline patients escaped the owners grasp in our Dyce carpark today.
He is a ginger neutered male with an injured front leg.

Please, if you spot him, get in touch, his owners are very worried about him. Thank you

A small silver bracelet was found on the floor or the reception waiting area this morning. Unfortunately it looks like it snapped in the middle and has slipped off its owners wrist. If you think it could be yours please give us a shout with a description and we will hopefully re-unite it with its owner.

Due to a shortage of team members at the practice, there might be a slight delay to routine appointments.

However, we want to reassure everyone that any emergencies, or pets with serious health concerns, will be seen as a priority to ensure they receive the care they need.

We wish we didn't have to post this...

Unfortunately, and with much reluctance, we will be introducing a penalty of £20 for those clients who fail to turn up to a consultation appointment without informing us. We are busier than ever, and are really struggling to provide appointments for everyone who wishes to be seen. It is extremely frustrating for everyone when an appointment is missed, as it has deprived someone else of being seen.

We hope you understand the reason behind this. We have had 15 missed appointments since last Monday.

If you are running late, or cannot attend your appointment please give us 2 hours notice, otherwise a fee will be applied.

Not really...Oaken is 10 years old today and unfortunately had a sore eye so needed to come in to get a bit of sedation to have it properly looked at. He will be delighted to see he has a new toy when he wakens up. 🎉

Sadly we have just had a black and white, female cat handed in to us after it was hit by a car and passed away. She was picked up on Fernhill Drive near Tesco. Unfortunately she is not microchipped. If you think she could be yours please get in touch.

Jasmine is one of our registered nurses. She has been with us since 2021. A special thank you to Jasmine for coming up with our 'get to know the nurses' questions & making sure everyone answered them😺

🐩 What is your favourite aspect of nursing?
- I really enjoy anaesthetic monitoring and Laboratory work

🐈What made you decide to go into nursing?
-I have always loved animals (cats especially!) and I was previously a veterinary receptionist. It took a push and encouragement from my best friend and fellow RVN who thought it would be good for me to pursue nursing.

🐩Which fictional character would you want by your side during a zombie apocalypse?
-John Wick – If he can take down 500 bad guys over 4 movies he can handle some zombies

🐈 If you could live anywhere else in the world for 1yr where would you choose?
-Florida, if I could take up residence in Disney World I would! Although you would have to drag me back kicking and screaming after the year is up.

- I enjoy Puppy checks and Confidence clinics.

🐈 What made you decide to go into nursing?
- I was initially doing human nursing, specifically geriatric care. Veterinary nursing was more challenging to get into but there was an opening at the right time so I decided to make the change over.

🐩 What fictional character would you want by your side in a zombie apocalypse?
- Chief Brody - Jaws "I can do anything; I'm the chief of police"

- Florence, Italy

🐈 What is your favorite aspect of nursing?
- Inpatient care. I really enjoy helping look after the poorly animals who are hospitalised. I find it really rewarding when you see them bounce back!

🐩 What made you go into nursing?
- My love of animals and wanting to help them, plus unlimited puppy cuddles is always a bonus.

🐈 Which fictional character would you want by your side during a zombie apocalypse?
- Pikachu.......I choose you! - THUNDERBOLT!

🐩 If you could live anywhere else in the world for 1yr, where would you choose?
- South Africa, to be with the giraffes🦒

- I really enjoy anesthetic monitoring, nurse clinics, and a blether with our clients.

🐈 What made you go into nursing?
- My grandparents. I was lucky enough to spend a lot of my childhood up on their farm helping out with livestock & their dogs. I've always had a passion to help animals.

🐩 Which fictional character would you want by your side during a zombie apocalypse?
- I would maybe pick Sponge Bob square pants, I could live under the sea in his pineapple house (try saying that without singing it 😆 )Pretty sure zombie's don't like water too!

🐈If you could live anywhere else in the world for 1yr, where would it be?
- I would love to hang out with the sloths in Costa Rica or maybe the Orangutans in Indonesia. Do my kids need to come with me?

🐾🩺 Skye was in to see us for her vaccinations the other week. Skye's mum wasn't keen on holding her and asked if Skye could have a 'professional cuddle'
Jasmine, our nurse was more than happy to oblige.🩺🐾

💜An extra cuddle in the veterinary environment can help reduce stress levels all round. If you feel your furry friend would benefit please let reception know when booking and we'll make sure the nursing team are on hand.💜

**UPDATE**
Riley came home last night after a kind lady spotted her and got in touch.

🐈‍⬛Riley is known to like a full tummy of food, her Mum has kindly asked if anyone around the area could avoid feeding her to ensure she comes home in future 🐈‍⬛

🐾People of Bucksburn, please can you keep an eye out for one of our vet’s cats 🐾

Riley ( lovingly called Rooroo- in case anyone calls out to her) has been missing for 5 days. It isnt like her to be out for long, a maximum of 3 days. She is 3 legged so cannot really jump a fence. If anyone is walking about Bucksburn please keep an eye out for Riley. If anyone in Bucksburn has been in their shed or garage on Since the weekend, please check if she could be in there. She is microchipped.

🐕As a team, keeping up to date with the latest information is vital and important to us. Today we welcomed James from MSD, with a presentation on the latest clinical information regarding vaccines. All staff including reception, nurses & vets attended.🐕

🐾This counts towards the annual CPD requirement from the RCVS (35 hours for vets & 15 hours for Nurses) As a veterinary practice we thrieve to ensure the best for our patients 🐾

🐾Important update regarding XL Bully’s in Scotland.🐾

As of the 23rd February 2024 it will be a legal requirement to have your XL Bully muzzled and on a lead in a public place.

We kindly ask all owners of dogs that come under the XL Bully type to ensure that their dog is wearing a muzzle and lead when entering the practice.

Unfortunately we cannot determine if your dog falls under the ban, only a certified dog warden or police officer can do this.

As more information is released from the government we will update everyone accordingly.

Unfortunately we have had a deceased cat handed into us.

Chipped but not registered. Cat is black and white, has black spots/markings on the pads of its paws. On the back of front left paw it has a small patch of black fur.

Found in Newmachar this afternoon.
