❤ HAPPY GOLDEN RETRIEVER DAY ❤

Golden Retrievers are one of the most popular dog breeds and for good reason! Not only are they gentle, loving and devoted, but they’re highly intelligent and great at following instructions, which is why they often work as search-and-rescue dogs.

Also one of the friendliest dog breeds, Golden Retrievers make for wonderful family pets and their sweet natures mean that they’re commonly used as therapy and service dogs, too.

Feels like forever since we last posted on here but as always we have been kept very busy.

****ROAD CLOSURE 19/03/24 - 22/03/24 (APPROX)*****

We have been informed by Aberdeenshire Council that there will be a temporary road closure of the A920 (Riverside Road) between Ulaw Hill and Wineburn from 19th March 2024 in order for essential drainage repairs to be completed. This will mean that visitors to the surgery who usually come through Ellon and along Riverside Road will have to take an alternate route to get to the surgery, coming back in towards Ellon from the opposite direction on the A920 in order to arrive at our usual access road.
We will be open as normal for the duration of the works, and we have been assured that access to the surgery will remain possible at all times. However visitors may need to seek an alternate route to avoid the road closure, and therefore may need to factor in a longer journey time when arriving for appointments.
We apologise for any inconvenience to our clients during the period of these roadworks, however unfortunately the circumstances are beyond our control. Please do not hesitate to call the surgery on 01358723420 if you are unsure which alternate route to take, and we will do our best to help direct you. Many thanks for your patience! 🙏🙏

***Road closure - surgery open as usual***

Edited to add - we've just been informed that the road closure has been delayed and is now likely to begin on Thursday 14th March. Before then, access to the surgery will remain available from the Ellon side, although temporary traffic lights will be in operation. We will update again when the road closure is in place.

Wishing our wonderful clients and their pets all the best of everything for a very Merry Christmas! We are so grateful for you all and hope that Santa is good to you 🙏🎅🎄 Many thanks also for all the wonderful festive wishes, gifts and cards that we have received!

We will close for Christmas at 5pm today, as we will be closed for the festive period on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th December. The surgery will reopen again at 8.30am on Wednesday 27th.

We have some very exciting news we'd like to share with you all - meet the gorgeous Eden, Leigh's wee boy who was born on Saturday 💙💙 We are so delighted for Leigh and Danny (plus the big fur brothers Murphy and Ralph 🐶🐶), and can't wait to meet the wee man soon. 🎅🎅🎅 LAST CALL FOR MEDICATION ORDERS🎅🎅🎅
We know it's a super busy time of year, and your festive "to do" lists are likely approaching a mile long! So we just wanted to send a wee reminder to our clients to place your orders for any medications that your pets require to see them through the next few weeks 🐶🐱🐹🐰🐦💊
We require 48 working hours to process and dispense prescription medication, so please place any repeat prescription orders by 5.30pm on Monday 18th December to ensure plenty of time for collection before we close for Christmas on Friday 22rd at 5pm. Many thanks 🙏🎄🎄🎄

A BIG thank you to everyone for your patience. We have been badly let down by our phone/internet provider but we are working hard on an interim solution until they can resolve their error. In the meantime we are all still here albeit with one working phone and remembering what it was like with no internet! Thankfully at least the vets are still able to do their job without the use of this new fangled technology. Every cloud has a silver lining! Many thanks again, we appreciate you all.

At least someone is enjoying the weather, meet Dante one of four spoiled piggies who live with our nurse Becca. Dantes interests include wallowing in mud and stuffing his face 😂

We have two more faces to introduce to you all! First of all, meet the gorgeous ball of fluff Olive who was in for her first vaccinations with Scott today. She was very brave and loving her cuddles :) She is just adorable! The other wee face that we're delighted to introduce to you all is our new vet nurse Becca. Some of you may have met Becca already (albeit behind a mask in the car park!), or spoken to her on the telephone, as she has been with us for a couple of weeks now. Becca has settled in fantastically well with the team and we're so pleased to have her on board. She has been keeping busy caring for our patients, assisting our vets Chris and Scott and mentoring our vet assistants Suzi and Leigh. From next week, Becca will also be available for pre-booked telephone nurse consultations, which will be FREE of charge to our registered clients. Keep your eyes peeled for some more information on this next week!
