What are microgreens and what are their benefits?

Microgreens are plants harvested just a few days old, older siblings of sprouts.
Most popular are vegetable microgreens like broccoli and radish, followed by herbs like coriander and finally flowers like sunflower. They all differ in appearance, flavuor and texture.

There're many benefits of microgreens, nutrient density being the main one (unless you're a chef or a foodie, then the appearance and flavour may be more important to you)
Amount of nutrients and vitamins varies between different kinds of microgreens, with some having as much as 40 times the nutrients of a fully grown plant!

Did you notice?
We're trialling some new crops and they've made it into last weeks subscription boxes.
They are Kale and Kohlrabi, and will be returning this week as well.
While Kale looks very similar to Broccoli, Kohlrabi has a really cool purply sheen to the stems.

Kohlrabi contains good quantities of Vitamin C, Potassium, Vitamin B6, Phosphorus, Folate, Thiamin, and Calcium.

While Kale has lots of vitamins A, B, C, E, and K, as well as calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, carotene, amino acids, and protein.

So the combo will definitely help you stay in top shape :)
