Thankyou so much everyone for the well wishes and prayers.
After a comfortable night and what looked like a miraculous recovery this morning Felini took another turn for the worse and we’ve had to let him go.
We will be forever grateful to Emma from Abbey Equine for the care and compassion she showed him,it was never going to be an easy decision but she made it as bearable as it could be for all of us.

2024 has really got it in for us!
We’ve got everything crossed that he makes it through the night but Felini isn’t looking good😢
Ten days ago he had his first ever bout of colic,we had the vet out, the meds seemed to settle it and he went back to his usual exuberant self but this morning it was back.
The vets been out twice today,she took a sample and did a worm count which came back clear but on his second examination she’s diagnosed a displaced colon.
He’s had another round of stronger meds and we are praying that it settles again by the morning because he’s 28 and he has a heart murmur so surgery isn’t an option.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Our New Year started sadly with the passing of our little Jack.
He was approaching twenty,
partially blind and deaf but the one thing he never lost was his enthusiasm for life.We will miss him terribly but we are grateful that he got to live his life with us.❤️💔❤️

Its officially Winter!😋

I love the smell of barley and linseed cooking nearly as much as the horses love eating it. The Farvis boiler also means we don’t have to lug big pans into the kitchen to boil on the Rayburn anymore and we can cook enough for everyone on the yard which saves us a fortune on feed.We often get asked how we afford to feed so many animals all winter,here’s how.😁

Luckily for Ben we have loads of ducklings this year😊

Seven Years Ago Life Changed... For Good

Seven years ago we took on a herd of 10 Welsh Cobs that were headed for slaughter. It's not been an easy journey, they were completely feral and have proved very difficult to round up. It's been a very slow and costly process but we now have 5 of them living happily amongst the rest of our horses (including one with a visual impairment). This weekend we are going to attempt to round up the stallion Tristan and his last filly foal and bring them back to the farm. Sapphire the last of the original mares who was 25 had to be put down last weekend and we now urgently need to get her filly foal separated from the stallion. Having a mature feral stallion on the yard is a huge challenge but as the only other option is to have him destroyed we will find a way. I'll be posting news on our Lluagor Horses page if any of you would like to follow his progress and see what we have planned for the herds future. Massive thanks to all of you who have helped us get this far!📷❤
