I try to bite my tongue on political issues so I’ll keep it short and sweet…

I love bully breeds and I WILL walk your dog, regardless of their breed! I will kiss their sweet giant heads and love them as they deserve in a world that does not deserve them and continues to prove that with absurd racial profiling and genocidal laws. I stand with and for your bully breed.

What a wonderful morning we’ve had, starting to get quite warm so these two had a wonderful time racing and chasing and… laying down…. In the water. Not the cleanest doggies but both very happy to have been able to run off their energy while keeping cool 💖

In recent days the hot weather has been stifling and the roads and pavements have become so hot that I can’t walk on them, so while this heat is lasting I am not taking any new walking clients between 11:30 and 3. I have arranged earlier walks for existing clients where needed and as always I will keep everyone informed if I need to cancel for their dogs well being.

I am still available for drop in visits and will play with drop in clients dogs in their gardens/homes as appropriate to ensure their pets still receive the care and attention they deserve in this weather without causing undue heat stress.

Not often we get photos like this on our walks, coming off the beach today the dogs very clearly said they wanted some cuddles and my daughter caught it on camera for us.

A lovely day on the beach with a ball which was then replaced with “the best stick in the world” which she proudly carried all the way home. I’m not sure her owners needed a stick but… we’ll stick happens

A local 7 year old is hoping to read 30 chapter books in 30 days to raise money for abandoned dogs. You may have noticed her litter picking around the area to help our wildlife, she’d love if you could show her some support in this too.

I am raising money to help pugs in need. I love Pugs a lot and I want to help make things better for them. I am 7 so this is how I can help.

Just a reminder that dogs are like Children. Two dogs scheduled for a walk today. One is at home trembling melodramatically at the slightest hint of outside, the other believes she’s in doggy heaven!

And as always, don’t forget to wash those paws.

I spent the weekend with my parents and because their road was still iced over and we didn't actually go on it much beyond getting in and out of the car... I didn't pay as much attention to her paws as I should have done. On Sunday after we got home my puppy was sleepy but ok and I went to bed, leaving the two dogs downstairs sleeping on the sofa.
On Monday Lilly was drooling uncontrollably, she was walking into things, she wasn't coming when I call her, I don't think she could hear me at all. She couldn't see me and even when I held her she just looked straight through me. She had no idea where she was or what was happening and neither did I. I rushed her to the vet and they were just as concerned and worried as I was. They admitted her and put her on fluids and ran £600 of blood tests. They were worried that it could be a genetic condition. They were worried she had neurological damage. They were worried that she was in serious trouble, but she stabilised and was able to come home last night so long as she was properly monitored.
The vet said there was limited change, and what improvement there was could reverse rapidly overnight. They were worried she'd have a seizure and so I was given diazepam and sent home. At home she was happier, but still struggling to be aware of her surroundings and kept getting stuck in the Christmas tree. We went to bed and I barely slept as every movement woke me up and I checked on her, making sure she was safe and well. I eventually drifted off to sleep in the small hours and was woken by a small puppy sitting on my head licking my face and trying to engage play.
She was back. She is bright eyed, alert, happy, engaged and eating. We went back to the vets who couldn't believe the change. The conclusion is that she must have ingested some sort of poison. The problem is, I don't have any. I have 4 small pets and a small child with no sense of danger or boundaries, there is literally nothing in my house that could harm her. Even my cleaning stuff is kept overhead and out of reach and I generally opt for natural non toxic solutions over chemicals wherever possible.

The other answer is something genetic, but we may never know what caused it.

Sometimes I feel truly blessed by my ”office” how lucky am I that I get to live and work here? And for the gorgeous dogs who thoroughly enjoyed their walks today!

Just a reminder that walk times are variable at this time of year depending on how well your dog gives paw. Once the gritters are out I will wipe your dogs paws before returning them. I suggest a better wash when you see them, but they will be wiped with grooming wipes and have paw butter applied if they’re cracked.

Grit is antifreeze and ice on flesh can cause damage. So we clean those paws and protect those pads 💖

12/12/2022

With the cold temperatures I just want to take a moment to remind you:
-Puppies, short haired dogs and certain breeds should not be walked in minus degrees.
-The grit used on roads and pavements contains anti freeze which can be deadly when consumed so ALWAYS wash paws when you get home before they lick them clean.
-Ice can damage paw pads

It appears that summer is officially over and we’ve got some bleak, rainy and cold months ahead of us now. But the dogs still need walking and there can be a lot of fun had in “bad” weather.

I have some dog walking spaces available through the week so if you need a winter dog walker get in touch!
