Jenny Jenkins & others from Aberystwyth do amazing work travelling to Ukraine 🇺🇦 to take donations 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

On your next visit to the cattery if you have any cat food your cat does not like anymore/ or you would like to donate some cat/ dog food please could you bring it and we will keep it here until the next trip to Ukraine 🇺🇦

We also have a small collection tin at the cattery reception for anybody that would like to donate so that more food can be purchased for the animals of Ukraine that will be taken out on the next trip 🇺🇦😻🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Please help this charity, the only independent cat rescue charity in Ceredigion. They do amazing work and rescue and help all cats no matter what. A donation no matter how small will help save a kitty 🐱

Apologies for the length of this but it is very important for our supporters to see. It is with great regret that for the foreseeable future we will not be able to take in any cats or kittens. This is for two reasons. The first is that we have applied to three or four different bodies that gives grants to charities for help in putting in new pens as our old ones need urgent replacement. Unfortunately we never even received an acknowledgment from any of them as they prefer giving grants to large charities where they will receive lots of publicity. We had intended to sort a Gofundme or similar to raise the funds but now have another problem.

Ceredigion Council has changed their waste policy which means that a rescue that is a registered charity will be treated as a business for the purposes of waste collection and will have to pay a Trade Waste operator for such. We try and be as environmentally friendly as possible using wood and paper based litter which is composted but cat faeces can’t be. To have a collection of the cat waste including food sachets every week would cost us £12 plus VAT and we would also have to pay business rate for recyclables collection of £9 a time!

It has been pointed out to Ceredigion Council that we are a registered charity and are the only independent cat rescue in Ceredigion carrying out TNR work with feral cats. We have also pointed out that we provide a service to the residents of Ceredigion and our sole method of raising funds is via donations from our kind supporters and if we are to be treated as a business we will no longer be able to take in cats or kittens. Meet the newest members of the cattery family…we had one chick….now we have 3 🐣😍 Junior, Bluebell and Rocky….we don’t know if they are boys or girls but the names will be 😂…open to more name suggestions for the next 3 🐣🐣🐣

A year ago today you arrived on our doorstep ( after someone threw you out of a car door on the corner of the Cattery when you were around 8 weeks old, and at least they did that at a Cattery I suppose ) and today you are the most handsome boy ever. ... as handsome as Winston so you won’t get better than that 😂
