Everyone meet the most loving and energetic pup: Casper 👻
I’ve been walking him for around 3 months now and he always puts a smile on my face (as well as anyone he meets!). He absolutely LOVES life and is already so well behaved for just a little pup 🥺 can’t wait for more adventures with you Casper! 🖤

With the temperature slowly on the rise, I thought now would be a good time to share this ☀️
I often get asked what we do when the weather gets warmer, so I have put this post together with some of the precautions we take at The Paw Smith in the summer months 🌳🐾
We will never put your dogs in danger, and will cancel the walk altogether if these precautions aren’t possible. We will contact each client individually to find out what will work best for them and their dog 🐕

Summer is around the corner and we are getting booked up with cat visits so remember to get your dates booked in before it’s too late! 🐈🏖
Cat visits are a perfect alternative to a cattery, as your beloved pet will be safe and sound in the comfort of their own home whilst being fed and loved each day by us 💛
During the visits we will feed your cat their usual food, refresh water, clean litter trays, administer medication if needed and of course give them lots of fuss and cuddles 🤗

Had such a nice time visiting Lottie and her new little sister, Margot, today! They have the cutest relationship already even though Margot launches her entire body at Lottie’s face on the regular 😂 we had an hour of snuggles, play, feeding, trainer chewing (🙄) and toileting in the garden! 🪴 seriously obsessed with this pair 🖤🤎🐾

Clare joined The Paw Smith in the New Year after leaving her job of 8 years as a chocolatier! 🍫
A lover of animals and the outdoors, Clare was looking for something that incorporated both and gave her a bit more of a flexible lifestyle. She is already getting booked up with regular walks and has had nothing but positive feedback from all of the owners. Suffice to say we have found a bit of a gem in Clare! ☺️

Hard to believe these two photos are of the same dog 😂 jokes aside.. how cutie pootie is Freyja 🥺 I started walking her just as I went on my crutches, so have been loving our walks the last couple of weeks getting to know her properly! She has so much character and is SO well behaved 🧡

MEET OLIVER: the most ball crazy dog you’ll ever meet! 🎾
Oliver is one of our new regulars in Oxford, so Clare gets the pleasure of walking him around Cutteslowe Park which is just a dream! There’s so much space to chase a ball, go for a swim and meet other doggy friends 🐾🦮
I’m getting to know Oxford a lot better now that we cover this area, and there are some amazing hidden gems for dog walks! 🌳🍃

Reunited with my Bonnie today! 🥰 the greeting I got from her when I arrived this morning was so sweet. I haven’t seen her since before I went on crutches, so it had been a while!
We finished her walk with a pit stop on her favourite bench for some snacks and then went home for a big hose down! 🐾💦

My lovely new team member, Clare, started with us in the New Year and her diary is quickly filling up with regular dog walks. I will introduce you to her properly very soon, but in the meantime, tell all your Oxford friends/family/colleagues because it won’t be long before we are at full capacity! 🦮🐈🐰

Besties in the sunshine 🤗☀️ Tilly & Pinny love each other so much, it’s so cute! 🥹
I am very happy to say that today I have been told I can officially come off my crutches 🩼 some of my clients will know I’ve been doing the odd cheeky walk here and there since the New Year 🤭 I am only allowed to do 4000-5000 steps per day at the moment which is at least a quarter of what a normal day would look like for me as a dog walker. Once I’ve done this for a week or 2, I can slowly build it up. So, if my lovely mum, Paula, has been walking your dogs on my behalf lately, it will most likely stay this way for the time being whilst I build things back up. I’m desperate to get back to all my lovely doggies but I need to be so careful not to undo all my hard work 💔

What a week it has been getting everything done before our Christmas break! A huge thank you to all of our clients, new & old. We are so grateful to do what we love everyday and you make that possible 💖 thank you also to our clients who so kindly gave us gifts & tips this year, it really means so much to us 🥹
An extra special thank you to Sophie Neil & Paula Smith - my amazing team members who have been my absolute saving grace all year, but this month especially. I’m looking forward to being back on my feet in the new year and back on my walkies which I have missed so much! 🦮

I’m very happy that last week is over and done with after what was probably the worst week in The Paw Smith history 😩
I’ve been struggling with pain in my leg for over 2 months now, and upon further investigation on Wednesday, it turns out I have been walking/running around with a fractured fibula 🙃 I sadly had to come away from the hospital on crutches and under strict instructions to not put any weight on my broken leg - not great news when your entire job revolves around walking 😭 (swipe for X-Ray image) 🦴
A few positives to take from this though - I still get to do dog/pet visits (including visiting this gorgeous girl!) which gives me something to do each day and stops me from being bored 🙌🏼
I have amazing people around me who have stepped in and helped, an extra big thank you to Sophie Neil for taking on some of my walks on top of her own, and to my lovely mum Paula Smith who is also doing some of my walks for me 🥰 so grateful to you both and not sure what I would have done without you!
Aaaand I have THE best clients who have been so kind and understanding and have done nothing but send me well wishes and told me to rest ❤️
For now, I will be focusing on recovering so that I can get straight back to it in the New Year, and maybe I’ll actually have some time to post regularly on here?! No promises though 😅

I’m Katherine and I am the owner and founder of The Paw Smith 🐾 I set the business up back in December of 2021 (almost 2 years ago 😱) and since then the business has gone from strength to strength. I wear many different hats being the owner of the business; I do dog walking, pet visits, house sitting, client meetings, emails/invoices/general admin, run the social media pages (when I remember) and most importantly, look after my lovely team! 🧡
I am based in Abingdon and cover this area as well as the surrounding villages but also travel as far as Wantage & Wallingford. I hope to continue to expand and grow my team further in the coming years 🙏🏼
