🥳Happy New Year 🥳

Thank you to all our lovely clients and their doggies for their support, generosity and love 🥰

2024 has not been an easy year. Losing Cassie brought us a grief we were not prepared for 😢

As the year moved on my fall left me in pain and needing a new knee 😫 Thank you for understanding that although I carried on to board I struggled to do walks. A big thank you to Miranda, Anna’s Animal Adventures and Jenni's Dog Walking for helping out. 🥰

August brought me my new knee 🤪 Thank you again to Miranda for taking the strain and my gorgeous bestie Dinah for nursing me and helping with the boarding doggies 🥰🐶 The difference has been amazing. Roll on second knee hopefully January 🤞

We finished the year on a high with a tinge of sadness....saying goodbye to Miranda has she set off to start her new life in Australia 🇦🇺 🦘🪃 I know many of you and your doggies will miss her and I know she already misses you 🥰

2025 will see me continuing to home board, offer homestays, walks, pop ins and wedding chaperoning. The diary is filling up fast. For those of you who have already booked I will be contacting you shorty to confirm.

People don't always realise what actually goes into LEGALLY boarding your precious little ones!

There are lots of rules/regulations that come into play before we can even welcome you and your furbabies into our homes.

All our policies and procedures are approved by the licensing inspector, all our paperwork and homechecks are completed regularly by the local authority. We are 5⭐️ licensed by Wigan Council.

Boarding is a full time 24 hour a day 7 day a week Job. And every ounce of planning, prepping, cleaning, organising and love and care that goes into caring for your furbabies is guided by our licencing. (And don't forget the admin! That's a full time job in itself 😝)

I will always encourage people to look around when looking at boarding, ask the questions and trust your gut I truly believe you know when you've found the right place. 🏡

I'm seeing more and more stories where unlicensed boarders are being used. Dogs lost, hurt and at times dying 😭

⚠️Why Is Licensing Important?

Licensing ensures that dog boarders comply with animal welfare regulations and that their home environment is safe and well-suited to the dog’s needs.

Licensed carers must:
• Hold relevant qualifications.
• Demonstrate their ability to provide high-standard care.
• Recognise signs of illness or injury and administer basic first aid.
• Prevent and control disease.
• Have emergency plans in place.
• Understand dog body language to identify signs of stress, pain, aggression, or happiness.

Their homes are inspected to ensure they meet safety and security requirements, and the space and facilities determine the number of dogs they are permitted to care for.

Unlicensed carers are breaking the law - your dog is at risk of being removed from the carers home and placed in Kennels. If you use an unlicensed carer, they are not insured, which means any insurance you have will be invalidated.

Will the unlicensed carer have your dog's needs as a priority?
Will they know what to do in an emergency?
Do they know Canine First Aid?
How many dogs do they look after at any one time?
Is your dog left alone for a period of time?
Why aren't they licensed? What are they hiding?
Is it worth the risk?

Now you know. Be wise, ask to see licence, do the meet and greet in boarders home and trust your instinct.
