Fisheries update: Yateley South Complex & Dairy Pond, Mill Lane.

Yateley South Complex:
Tree Lake, Pumphouse Lake and Horseshoe Lake are now open again to fishing. Aerators have been fitted within these three lakes lakes, which we hope will ensure that dissolved oxygen levels are maintained at a healthy level, with all of the associated benefits that brings to the fish.

Please note:
Anyone found tampering with the aerator system in any way whatsoever will have their permit removed immediately.

Dairy Pond, Mill Lane - Open to fishing with immediate effect.

We have finished works to create a small new fishery with 6 swims, known as Dairy Pond. The pond is best reached by entering Mill Lane, turning right and parking toward the southern end pf the car park and taking the short walk of roughly 100m to the pond.

The pond was previously surrounded by, and had a lot of trees growing in it, whilst all of these have been removed, please be aware that there are still a number of smaller branches and twigs in there.

We are unsure of the stock at the present time, but know that some Tench are in the pond, so your feedback would be both welcome and helpful.

Please note:
Anyone found tampering with the aerator system in any way whatsoever will have their permit removed immediately.

The works will therefore be arranged for another time and this will be advised of in due course.

South Lake - This reopened this morning following some tree maintenance.

Pumphouse, Horseshoe & Tree Lakes - Will remain closed until aeration equipment has been installed at the three fisheries which is vitally important following the sewage pollution incident that occurred last November. We hope this will be completed by the end of next week, so will advise further in due course.

Summer Pit - Remains closed until further notice in order that dead trees may be removed to make the fishery safe and coppicing of willows will be addressed, so will advise further in due course.

Less than 30 Carp to around 11lb maximum and around 60 Tench showed up during netting, so the Carp were not removed. We are hoping to be able to stock more Tench once they reach a size where Cormorants will not predate them and the stock at the fishery will remain under review.

Chaley Park - Remains closed with car park and access track improvements due to be completed by Friday, but will advise further in due course.
