Behind the scenes today we have had the David, our brilliant Saddler come and check the fit of all the horses and ponies saddles.

Through the years and seasons it’s quite normal for horses to change their shape so it’s important that we keep an eye on the fit of the saddles to keep them feeling happy and comfortable in their work.

Some have had some minor adjustments to them and a couple have gone off for re flocking and repairs.

There is always something to do with horses.

📢 Important Update: Two Ways to Ride with Us from March 31st

First, we want to sincerely thank all of our riders and volunteers for your continued support. Through recessions, the pandemic, and more recent challenges, your loyalty has meant a great deal to us, and we truly appreciate it.

Rising operational costs and changes announced in the Autumn Budget have significantly increased expenses for businesses like ours. To ensure we can continue providing the best possible experience for our riders and horses, we have made adjustments to our pricing and also introduced a new riding option.

From March 31st, there will be two ways to ride, giving you the flexibility to choose the option that works best for you.

📌 Option 1: Pay-as-You-Go – The Same Flexible Booking System

You can continue to book and pay for lessons as you always have. From March 31st, prices will increase to ensure we can maintain the high standards of care and instruction that our riders and horses deserve.

New Pay-as-You-Go Prices:

Adult 1 Hour Class: £50.50
Child 1 Hour Class: £48.50
Child Beginner Class: £41.50
Adult Private Lesson Weekday: from £51.75
Adult Private Lesson Weekend: from £57.50

📌Option 2: Membership – Structured Pricing with Exclusive Benefits

For regular riders, our Membership offers a way to ride at a reduced rate while also enjoying some exclusive benefits. These include:

✅ A guaranteed weekly lesson slot – No more worrying about availability; your space is secured every week.
✅ Exclusive membership rates for extra lessons – If you want to ride more often, you’ll benefit from lower prices.
✅ Free or discounted entry to scheduled workshops, demos and events.
✅ A piece of Bourne Vale Stables Merchandise

📌 Membership pricing varies depending on your lesson category. Spaces are limited, so get in touch, and we’ll help find the best option for you.

It’s Quiz time again!!

Who would like to take part in the area quiz this year?

Teams are to be made up of 4 members.

Mini section ages to be 10 years and under on 1/1/25 with one member to be 8 and under

Junior/senior team of 4 with 2 members to 14 and under on 1/1/25 and 2 any age up to 25 years old.

The area quiz is Sunday 9th March.

Weekly session to prep for the quiz will start next week and the Pony Club days are perfect to to brush up on your knowledge.

Christmas Day at BVS 2024. We hope you all had a fabulous Christmas. A big thank you to everyone who sent cards and gifts to us and the horses. Here’s a little clip of what we were up to on Christmas Day.

Thanks neighbours!! At the moment I have some horses shaking at the back of their stables, some box walking and rushing at stable doors. Is it worth it?

⛈️Last nights thunder storm was a good one! ⚡️ It was good to know all the horses were tucked up in their stables safe and dry. It looks like the weather is here to stay for a good few days.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last Friday for our Pizza, quiz and cocktail party! We hope you all enjoyed it as much as we did. Thanks again to Kate and Andy @papaleeks for the delicious pizzas.

Huge well done to members Lizzie, Lauren, Lily and Esme who absolutely smashed it today at the Pony Club area quiz!! The team were 4th over all and the highest places centre in area 7. They have secured their place at the final in April

🎄Wishing everyone a very Merry Christmas from all of us at Bourne Vale Stables. Also a huge thank you to the fantastic ladies who kindly volunteered this morning to help do morning yard duties.

Tom and Blue had a ride out to Sutton Park this morning. They both travelled like seasons pros and had a lovely relaxing walk with an ice cream at the end!!

Good old dad sorting out the sycamore seedlings in the paddock this morning. When horses eat sycamore seeds or seedlings it can cause atypical myopathy. Although the horses have been quite careful whilst grazing and eating around them it’s just not worth the risk of poisoning.
