I am a fully qualified dog groomer specialising in hand stripping terriers, but I also groom other breeds. As I prepare to retire from a full service career in the Royal Marines, I am excited to embark on a new venture in the pet care sector. This business has been a personal goal of mine for some time, and I am eager to use my transferable knowledge and skills to
establish a high-quality pet services business. I hold a First Class Honours Degree in Business and Management, which has equipped me with the academic knowledge needed to run a successful business. Additionally, I have undertaken personal study in Canine Welfare and Behavioural Management (Level 4 Diploma) and a level 3 diploma in dog grooming and salon management to further enhance my skills and knowledge in this field. As a dedicated dog owner, I have cared for several dogs over the years and take full responsibility for their welfare, training, and management. My current dog, Cade, has undergone a personally developed training program to ensure he is sociable, well-mannered, and demonstrates robust recall. We enjoy off-lead walks in open spaces and during ascents and descents of the Scottish Munros. Cade also participates in dog agility classes, which helps us build our skills in advanced dog handling. My career in the Royal Marines has provided me with extensive experience in various roles, ranks, and diverse locations. This experience has instilled in me the discipline, organisation, effective personnel management, and resilience needed to navigate complex, fast-moving, and high-pressure environments. I am a dedicated, diligent, and hard-working individual with a strong drive to ensure that my business becomes and remains successful. Beyond achieving financial viability, I aim to enhance my contribution to the community and create employment opportunities for future veterans. My commitment and motivation to succeed are evidenced by my work and academic achievements. My goal is to establish and grow a new pet services business that demonstrates leadership in its sector, with a secure and growing client base, and the ability to offer high-quality services.
