Woof! Just look at all that loose coat I groomed out of my girl Echo in the salon on Tuesday! She’s usually given a 10 min brush at home every 2 days or so … she lies down to be brushed or walks around whilst I try to follow her around brushing her .. her grooming at home is usually done outside as my husband is allergic to dog hair (yes seriously 😆) so I relish the chance to give her a proper groom in the salon when I can. In Dog! I can put her up onto the grooming table, so she has to stay still and I can use the full array of tools at my disposal! I like to use the slicker brush, rake, comb and zoom groom on her coat and this time it took me about 40 minutes and I also trimmed her paws … her coat feels so soft after this!

When she’s bathed and fluff dried, I can easily get double that amount of loose coat out

Moral of the story is, taking your dog to a groomer doesn’t solve the shedding problem but it does help 😆

Woof! Here at Dog! I stock a small selection of raw frozen mince which I buy direct from lovely suppliers Hungry Hounds in Falkirk … it’s very good quality and the meat is sourced from their local suppliers and processed and packaged by themselves under their brand name The Raw Factory

I feed my own dog Echo on it and she loves all the varieties which I supplement with vegetables and sometimes sprats

I sell 1kg bags at £2.60

My salon freezer is currently stocked with duck and butternut squash, tripe, chicken complete, chicken/apple, lamb/tripe,beef/tripe, chicken/lamb/offal

Combining a paste treat with a lick mat, keeps pets occupied for longer … remember you can also freeze lick mats … when frozen and given to your dog, these can be a different texture for your dog, helping to maintain their interest and therefore reduce boredom

Woof! Another chilled boy this morning … gorgeous Buddy … this guy likes mud and water and has an active lifestyle so his dad opted for a short low maintenance haircut for him again today … his coat is so much easier to look after being this length! Although Buddy doesn’t shed hair* (he’s a poodle crossed with a Labrador .. a Labradoodle), his coat needs regular grooming to prevent it getting matted .. and regular clipping … so having a shorter clip is much less work for his humans … such a handsome doggy ❤️🐾🐾❤️

*some Poodle crosses DO shed hair .. don’t believe unscrupulous breeders! Plus Poodle crosses need daily home grooming, combed right to the skin .. otherwise that cotton wool type hair will felt at the roots, leading to mats .. which have to be shaved off
