Carolyn is one of our Equine Vets based at the Kelso branch. She graduated in 2006 from Dublin (UCD), staying on a year to do her PhD in mare reproduction. She did a further year as an intern in the Equine hospital, before leaving the Country and joining Cheviot Vets 14 years ago. โญ๏ธ ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿฉบ

Carolyn specialises in stud medicine. She loves working with newborn foals, especially if she was involved in helping their mare through pregnancy. It's also lovely for her to watch these foals grow up, start their career and follow them along through life as their Vet. She loves working with nervous horses, and it's always so rewarding if she can get a horse that 'hates Vets' to trust her. ๐Ÿด๐ŸŽ

Carolyn is joined on the road by her trusty side-kick, Cabbage the dog. Cabbage as you can see, takes charge of all Carolyn's admin work! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿฆด

"I'm lucky to have known many of our clients for a long time now, and while I may not see them as often (as I'm very part time), I really value those relationships and have made many friends, both clients and horses". โค๏ธ

Clare graduated in 2007 and has since worked as a truly mixed practitioner, joining Cheviot Vets 8 years ago. ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿ’‰

Clare is one of our Senior Vets on the Small Animal Kelso Team and will spend most of her time in the Operating Theatre. She loves all aspects of Surgery, in particular soft tissue. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿˆ

She is also one of our official Veterinarian who is trained to deal with Small Animal travel and export. ๐Ÿ›‚โœˆ๏ธ๐Ÿšš

One day a week she leaves her scrubs behind and puts her wellies on to head out to deal with all aspects of Equine and Farm work. ๐Ÿด๐Ÿท๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ‘

Ginny is one of our Large Animal Vets based at our Kelso Branch, occasionally venturing South to Powburn. Ginny graduated in 2012, joining us at Cheviot Vets 2 years ago. ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ

Ginny is on the go with her dazzling not so little sidekick Goose, her lovely black Labrador. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฆด

Ginny enjoys all parts of life as a Large Animal Vet but particularly specialises in reproductive work on the Farm and loves a good caesarean section. ๐Ÿ’‰๐Ÿชก

Nick is one of our Large Animal Vets based at our Powburn Branch. He's been with Cheviot Vets for nearly a decade, joining us as a Mixed Animal Vet, after graduating from Bristol in 2015. Nick is often found gallivanting around the countryside with his side-kick/co-pilot Jura, the spaniel. ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿถ๐Ÿฉบ

Nick is happiest on Farm working together with Farmers to optimise flock and herd productivity and loves getting hands on too with individual cases whether they are are medicine or surgery. ๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ๐Ÿฎ

He seems to have the knack of getting covered in varying bodily fluids which our Farmers take great delight in photographing for us all to see! ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ’ฉ๐Ÿ˜‚

Nicks favourite jobs on Farm is blood testing and fertility work, which are also great opportunities to get on Farm and discuss any issues with Farmers. ๐Ÿ’‰๐Ÿ’ฌ๐Ÿฎ

"We are so lucky to have fantastic clients who really champion British Farming and it is a pleasure to work with them and have gotten to know them over the years. Many of them I can now call Friends even if they do take the pleasure in making fun of me." ๐Ÿ’™

Lizzie joined Cheviot Vets in 2016 after graduating from Liverpool University. She started with us in a Mixed Animal role but has since moved over to Small Animal, still occasionally helping out with large animal emergencies. ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿˆ

Lizzie is mainly based at our Powburn Branch but does venture up to Kelso one day a week. She also spends one day every other week at a referral Centre, shadowing specialists so she can advance and develop her surgical skills. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ๐Ÿฉบ

Lizzie has a keen interest in Surgery and is happiest when she's in the operating theatre. Her least favourite part of the job is emptying a**l glands. ๐Ÿ™ˆ๐Ÿ’ฉ

Max graduated from the University of Glasgow in 2015 and after a short stint working in their Weipers Equine centre headed out to Tipperary, Ireland for a yearlong internship. Max then returned to Northumberland in 2016, eventually joining Cheviot Vets in 2021. ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿง‘โ€โš•๏ธ

Max then went on to obtain a certificate in advanced Veterinary Practice in 2023 from the university of Liverpool. โญ๏ธ

Max is our only Equine Vet based from our Powburn Branch however he did work as a mixed large animal Vet for 5 years and loves a good calving or caesarean. His main areas of interest are sports horse medicine, poor performance, lameness and dentistry. ๐Ÿด๐ŸŽ๐Ÿงฒ

Megan is one of our Small Animal Vets based at our Kelso Branch. She has been with us at Cheviot Vets for a year since graduating from The Royal Dick Vet School of Veterinary Studies in June last year. ๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿถ๐Ÿ•

It has been a quick year for Megan and she has enjoyed getting to know all of our lovely clients and their pets. She mostly enjoys consulting as you never know what is going to walk through the door next. Megan finds the best part of her job is the satisfaction after seeing poorly cases back to full health. ๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ๐Ÿ’•

You may have also met Barley, Megan's cocker spaniel puppy who often takes it upon himself to meet clients in the waiting room at our Kelso Branch! ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿงก

Allana has been with us at Cheviot Vets for 3 years. She works in a mixed role, mainly out of the Kelso Branch, with her handsome sidekick Rudi the dog. ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿงก๐Ÿฆฎ

The majority of Allana's work is now mainly Equine based, and she has a particular interest in Equine reproduction (now at the end of a busy stud season). ๐Ÿด๐ŸŽ

Allana loves all aspects of her job, from simple jobs to the complicated ones, endless variety - "it's the spice of life." And she loves getting stuck in the challenging new cases. She also loves being out on the road or having a day in the Practice; meeting and catching up with clients, building new relationships, treating patients who need our help, making the difference. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฉบ

" I just adore my job and feel incredibly lucky to work in and travel around the Borders and North Northumberland - it's glorious. It's a tough and demanding job at times, but it's made a whole lot easier with amazing teammates, clients and patients. I wouldn't wish to be anywhere else doing anything else." ๐Ÿ’•

Ruth is one of our Small Animal Vets based at our Powburn Branch. After a snap decision on the bus to sixth form one day she decided she'd like to be a Vet, much to the surprise of her Family as she used to be very squeamish. ๐Ÿ•โ€๐Ÿฆบ๐Ÿฑ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿˆ

She graduated from University of Bristol in 2019 and after a brief stint at a Small Animal Practice in Newcastle, joined Cheviot Vets in January 2021. ๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽ“๐Ÿ™

Ruth enjoys the variety that each days brings, but especially loves treating ear infections, stitching up wounds and making particularly comfy beds for her hospital patients. ๐Ÿชก๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿ’‰

Sabine and Urs are the owners and directors of Cheviot Vets. Sabine leading the Small Animal team and Urs heading the Large Animal Vets. ๐Ÿ’š

Sabine shares her time between both branches, Powburn and Kelso, doing mainly consultations, not to be found so much through the back in Theatre. Having said that, she does enjoy keeping her hands in and skills up in surgery when needed. Sabine likes to 'get her teeth in' to some of the more complex medicine cases, following through, giving owners continuity and re-assurance. ๐Ÿถ๐Ÿˆ๐Ÿ•โ€๐Ÿฆบ๐Ÿฑ

She also runs our busy Booster clinics on monthly Saturdays to take the load off the working weeks and team. ๐Ÿ’‰

Sabine also works closely with our Practice Manager, Di and Team Manager Powburn, Melissa to run a smooth Practice and successful and happy team. ๐Ÿ‘

Urs is mainly found on the road in his truck, all over the Scottish Borders and Northumberland, usually on his phone! ๐Ÿ’š

Our farmers like his 'no nonsense' approach, knowledge and pragmatism.... which works on some tricky horses too!! There will be plenty of 'farm words' and banter as well. ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿฎ๐Ÿ๐Ÿด

Although not as such specialising in anything, with his vast experience, he will be happy to deal with all things Equine and Farm. ๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš•๏ธ๐Ÿฅผ
