⭐️ FREE STRANGLES VACCINATION OFFER ⭐️

Strangvac is an intramuscular vaccine against the highly contagious and devastating respiratory disease S.equi (Strangles). The vaccine is indicated to reduce the severity of clinical signs of the disease and reduce shedding. 🦠

A primary vaccination course consists of two doses administered 4 weeks apart, followed by regular boosters at either 6 or 12 month intervals, depending on your horse, yard and risk factors. 💉

We are very pleased to be able to offer a strangles vaccine amnesty to our equine clients from the middle of March, in conjunction with Dechra. To claim, the first vaccine needs to be administered between Monday the 17th of March and Friday the 11th of April, then your second vaccine 4 weeks later will be free of charge. 🐴

We must book the second vaccine on the first visit. Normal visit charges apply, however we are able to offer a visit free of charge if there are 5 or more horses at one yard to do on the same day. 📔

⭐️ Important FEI announcement and Duphalyte Availability ⭐️

As the pre-season training starts to gain momentum it is important to ensure your horses vaccines are up to date for all levels of competition. In recent years there have been many changes to vaccine rules depending on the governing body, some of which have even changed twice in a year during flu outbreaks, so it is very understandable to get it wrong sometimes. 💉

The most notable change this year comes from the FEI. Timings remain the same as the 2024 season:

V1-day 0
V2-21-60 days after
V3-within 6 months and 21 days (but not within 7 days of competition)

All competing horses must have had a booster within the previous 6months and 21 days of the competition. 🏇🏻

However, in addition the FEI have introduced compulsory recording of these vaccines in the FEI Horse app (the same app used to record re**al temperatures before competition). The vaccinating vet must do this using a bluetooth microchip scanner at the time of vaccination.

Therefore, please inform us at the time of booking the vaccination if your horse may be competing under FEI rules this season.

Please also ensure your passports are up to date well in advance of competition, if needed we can restart a course and the horse may compete 28 days after without sanctions.

For other governing bodies please check the relevant websites for their current vaccination rules (BE, BD, BSJA, BHA, PC).

It is also important to note that Duphalyte is indefinitely out of stock and therefore unavailable. ❌

Whilst tooth brushing is the best way to reduce dental plaque build-up, some pets will just not tolerate it no matter how hard we try. 🙈

During we are talking about dental problems in dogs and cats. Periodontal disease occurs when the tissues that surround teeth become infected and inflamed. Bacterial plaque build-up on the teeth causes inflammation of the gums (gingivitis) if not removed. Over time, infection and inflammation spread deeper into the tooth sockets, destroying the bone around the tooth roots - meaning teeth may need to be extracted (if they haven't already fallen out!) 🐾🐈
