It’s been quite the week!
I’ve been antibiotics for an infection after a wisdom tooth extraction, and walking around with a swollen face 🌝, and then 2 flat tyres and discovering the spring had snapped off causing said flat tyres.
I’m very grateful to the kind, caring and helpful guys who have helped along the way! 💙 I’m very lucky to have such a great support network 💪

NERVOUS DOG MISSING NEAR FOXHUNTERS WHITLEY BAY TYNE & WEAR

Hi everyone! From owners son

I’m posting an update on behalf of my Mam who lost her 5 month old puppy on Tuesday afternoon. We need your help to locate her. Thank you SO much to those who have been helping look and also just sharing on here. It means the world!

For those unfamiliar, during a walk, Kira got spooked, pulled on her leash, and slipped out of my Mam’s hands. There has only been one (possible) sighting. Since she is a purebred Golden Retriever puppy, we’re very aware of how valuable she is in the wrong hands. After a couple of days with no confirmed sightings, I’m continuing to post in this group in the hope that if someone has taken her, she’ll become “too hot to handle.” We’re also holding on to hope that she is hiding somewhere, just scared.

Where Kira was lost:

* My Mam lives in the NE29 area on Rake Lane.
* Kira was lost in the NE25 area, near the Foxhunters pub in Whitley Bay. I’ve shared a screenshot of Google Maps of the location she bolted from and the direction we think she may have ran in.
* One possible sighting was made along the seafront in Whitley Bay, heading toward Tynemouth.
* She was wearing a black coat with a yellow stripe and was still attached to her leash when she got away (photo attached).
* Since there have been no confirmed sightings, we’re worried she may be trapped somewhere or that someone has taken her in. If you hear of a neighbor or friend who recently got a new Golden Retriever puppy, please ask questions—no judgment. They may not realize they have a stolen puppy.

Steps we’ve taken:

* My Mam has joined Drone SAR.
* We’ve reported Kira missing with the microchip company.
* The local dog warden, vets, and non-emergency police have been notified.
* Clothing has been left outside my Mam’s house and my Grandad’s (near where she was lost).
* We’ve created a profile on DogLost

Ways you can help:

* If you know anyone who lives around Cotswold Drive, Zetland Road, Hampton Road, Whitley Bay, or any houses that back onto Foxhunters field or the areas around there and they have home surveillance (Ring Doorbells, security cameras, etc.), can you ask them to check their video footage?
* My Stepdad is at work today so it makes it tricky for my Mam to look. If anyone has time to explore the area, that would be helpful. But all the advice on lost dogs says that if you see her, approach cautiously as she will likely bolt again.
* Areas where she could’ve gone: Whitley Bay Quarry, down to the coast, into Tynemouth, the Fish Quay - we’re thinking of any roads that would lead from the Foxhunters field.

Also, thank you for thise sharing the dog from New Hartley, but unfortunately it was not Kira. That was a male Labrador.

Many wonderful people have already been out searching, and we’ve expanded the search area outside of the North East. Please get in touch if you have any information, even if it seems trivial.
