Sticky Weed. Cleavers. Goose Grass. What do you call it?
Jeffrey calls it delicious!
In springtime hedgerows and verges become a buffet for our dogs, so they may take more time in walks to forage in through the new growth.
Grazing on plants is not necessarily a sign that your dog is feeling unwell but that the plants like sticky weed are actually quite good for them.
Benefits of sticky weed:
☘️ Rich in Vitamin C
🌿 Anti inflammatory and antioxidant properties
🍃 Diuretic
🍀 Supports the liver, kidneys and urinary tract, as well as the lympathic system
🪴It's free and great for us too!
How to graze safely:
⚠️ Only graze in areas where contaminants like pesticides are not present
💮 Prevent grazing once flowers and seeds start to appear on the sticky weed as these are not good if consumed in large quantities
🔎 Only allow gazing if you're confident identifying sticky Weed correctly
🤺 Avoid grazing in patches with nettles and other stinging/prickly plants (pic in comments!)
