🐰 The three rabbit kits whose nest was disturbed are doing really well! They’re gaining weight nicely and are all now eating solid food. It hopefully won’t be too much longer until they’ll be fit for release back to the wild.

🎉 One of our wonderful supporters Marie-Lou is running the London Marathon this Sunday in support of HART Wildlife Rescue! Please wish her luck and donate to her fundraiser - it’s currently at 97%!

🐰 Wispa the leveret we introduced you to is doing really well! She is eating solids and is now being gradually weaned off of her milk formula.

📞 If you find baby wildlife, please remember to call your nearest wildlife rescue for advice before intervening! Mother hares will hide their babies in long grass and leave them alone for the majority of the day, so if you find a Leveret in the wild it’s very unlikely to have been abandoned!

🐣 These tiny hatchlings are Starlings! Unfortunately, their nest was disturbed which is how they ended up in our care. Please remember that it is illegal to disturb an active birds nest unless you have an appropriate license! These youngsters are currently being fed every 20 minutes for 12 hours a day by our dedicated team.

❤️ If you’d like to support our work rehabilitating British wildlife, please consider purchasing items off our Amazon wishlist. We’re currently in need of 1ml syringes, blue roll, and chick crumb. All donations are greatly appreciated!

🐰 Happy Easter! 🐰

These five Leverets were transferred to us from a local veterinary practice after they were sadly found next to a deceased adult Hare who we presume was their mother. They’re very tiny so we estimate them to be only a few days old! To admit five Leveret siblings is very unusual and a first for us here at HART. They most commonly have one to three babies in a litter so we were very shocked to admit five! They’re now being hand-reared by our team and will be released back to the wild once independent.

❤️ If you’d like to support our work rehabilitating British wildlife, please consider purchasing items off our Amazon wishlist. We’re currently in need of 1ml syringes, blue roll, and Royal Canin puppy milk. All donations are greatly appreciated!

🦊 How gorgeous are these fox cub siblings! They have been nicknamed Walnut and Hazelnut by our team and are both doing really well!

Rehabilitating fox cubs is a long and expensive process. These cubs will stay with us now until September which is when they will be released back to the wild!

We use Royal Canin puppy mousse to wean our fox cubs and other young mammals. We are running very low so if anyone is able to purchase some we would be incredibly grateful!

🦉 This very poorly Barn Owl was transferred to us from a local veterinary practice. On admission, we found a large tick on his head. Tick bites can make birds very unwell and they can even be fatal! The tick was promptly removed and he has been started on an appropriate course of treatment.

🐦 These two juvenile collared doves have been hand-reared by our team after they were found on the ground as young chicks. Metabolic bone disease is a common problem we see in young pigeons and doves so we supplement our hand-reared chicks with vitamins and UV light.

🐰 How gorgeous are the three rabbit kits we introduced you to earlier this week! They’ve been named Fern, Bracken, and Nettle by our member of staff Lydia who is hand-rearing them.

Please be especially careful this time of year so as to not disturb young wildlife. If you do accidentally disturb any wildlife please contact us for advice in the first instance. Wild animals always do better being raised by their own kind!

❤️ If you’d like to help, we’re in need of hay and rabbit nuggets which we use when weaning the rabbits and leverets in our care. Items can be purchased off our Amazon wishlist. Thank you for your continued support!

🐥 Spring has certainly sprung here at HART! These mallard ducklings were admitted after they were found alone in a garden. At this age, they should still be with their mother! With no sign of their mum or the rest of their siblings, they were brought into HART to be cared for until they’re independent.

❤️ With lots of ducklings in our care, we are in need of chick crumb, heat lamps, and Safe4 disinfectant. If you can help, please consider purchasing items for our ducklings off our Amazon wishlist. Thank you for your support!

🐰 This Leveret, baby Brown Hare, is currently being hand-reared by one of our members of staff, Amy. She came into HART with her sibling after they were attacked by a dog. Unfortunately, her sibling was very badly injured and could not be saved. Despite her traumatic start to life, the surviving Leveret, nicknamed Wispa, has been making good progress!

❤️ We’re currently in need of puppy pads, hay, and rabbit nuggets. If you would like to help our work rehabilitating wildlife like Wispa the Leveret, please consider donating items off our Amazon wishlist! It really does make all the difference!

We’re now into baby bird season so please practice responsible pet ownership. Keep cats indoors where possible and put bells on collars. If your cat catches any wildlife, please contact your nearest wildlife rescue for advice!

🩷 We’re currently in need of puppy pads, hay, and Royal Canin puppy milk formula. Please consider purchasing much needed items off our Amazon wishlist.

🦊 We’ve admitted our first fox cubs of the year! Three siblings who were found alone on a footpath in Alresford. With their eyes not yet open, they’re estimated to be less than two weeks old. Unfortunately, despite our team’s best efforts, the smallest of the trio was just too weak to survive. However, we’re pleased to say that the remaining two are doing well and we hope they will continue to thrive.

🩷 We’re currently in need of Royal Canin puppy milk and Royal Canin puppy mousse to feed these hungry little cubs. If you can help, please consider purchasing these much needed items off our Amazon wishlist!

🐦 This juvenile collared dove came into HART after being found grounded and unable to fly. She has metabolic bone disease which is something we see frequently in collared doves, particularly in those born during the Autumn and Winter months when there is less daylight. Now receiving appropriate support, we hope to have this youngster back in the wild soon!
