🐦 At the moment we have lots of young pigeons and doves in our care! This unusual pairing (Collared Dove on the left and Wood Pigeon on the right) are currently keeping each other company.

🩷 It’s very busy here at the centre and we’re really in need of small nitrile gloves, puppy pads, and Royal Canin puppy milk formula for the wildlife in our care. Any donations would be greatly appreciated!

🐥 These rather grumpy looking baby birds are Robins! They’re some of the many young birds currently being hand-reared by our team. As you can see, they’re almost ready to leave their nest so it hopefully won’t be too much longer until they’re feeding themselves!

📢 We are currently experiencing a power cut at the rescue centre. Please be patient while we try to do what we can for our current patients and resolve the situation. Please do not just turn up with patients to the rescue centre as we currently have very limited resources. If you have a wildlife emergency please contact the RSPCA on their National Helpline number, your local vet practice, or look on www.helpwildlife.co.uk for other rescue centres that may be able to offer you assistance at this time. We apologise for the inconvenience and hope to have power restored as soon as possible 📢

🦔 Our hoglet sponsorship programme is back by popular demand! We’ve started to admit our first young hedgehogs of the year here at HART so now seems a better time than any to launch our sponsorship programme!

Hedgehogs are one of our favourite animals here at HART and our team rehabilitates a great many hoglets every Summer. Unfortunately, hand-rearing hoglets is not a cheap process and it comes at a great cost to us as a charity.

For a minimum donation of £30, you can sponsor the hoglets in our care and receive fortnightly email updates, with photos, on their progress over the next 3 months. All the money raised will go directly towards their rehabilitation and with your support, we want to help as many hoglets as possible!

🪶 This Swift chick came into HART after being rescued from a cat! He’s currently very poorly but is being cared for by our Assistant Manager, Amy, who is very experienced with rehabilitating these beautiful birds. Please keep your fingers crossed that he makes a full recovery!

🐥 This tiny Mallard duckling was rescued and brought to HART after being attacked by a cat. He was very lucky to have escaped without any major injuries! Company is incredibly important for ducklings so we’ve since introduced him to one of our duckling groups who are of a similar age. We currently have nine groups of ducklings in our care!

🌲 Our baby Greater Spotted Woodpecker has finally been released back to the wild after many weeks of care from our team! He came into HART after he was attacked by a cat as a tiny chick. Since then, he’s been hand-reared by our team and once independent he was returned back to the wild for his second chance.
