🦇 Here’s one of our current patients enjoying his dinner! This male Daubenton’s bat was found grounded. He was very weak and underweight when he arrived at HART but has been doing really well and is enjoying the food we have to offer!

💙 If you would like to support our work, please consider purchasing items off our Amazon wishlist. We’re currently in need of wash powder and food for some of the animals in our care. Any donations would be hugely appreciated!

🐰 This tiny leveret (baby hare) was just a few days old when she was unfortunately picked up by a dog. She was brought into HART and is now being hand-reared by our manager Robyn.

Leverets are born fully furred with their eyes open, and are left hidden alone for the majority of the day. If you come across a Leveret, unless visibly injured, please leave well alone!

🩷 If you’d like to support our work, please consider purchasing items off our Amazon wishlist. We’re currently in need of puppy pads, hay and wash powder. Thank you!

🐥 Look how big our baby robins are getting! They’ve fledged the nest now and are learning to feed themselves. These two youngsters are just the first of many baby birds we will end up admitting over the Spring and Summer. If you’d like to help, please consider purchasing waxworms or mealworms from Live Foods Direct. All donations would be greatly appreciated by our team and the baby birds! 🪱

🐥 We admitted our first baby birds of the year yesterday! These two robin nestlings were brought into HART after they were found on the ground. They are much too young to be out of the nest, so they will now be cared for by our team until independent and eventually returned back to the wild!

🦉 We’re pleased to announce that the Barn Owl rescued by our team has now been released back to the wild! This photo was taken when he moved out into one of our flight aviaries. As you can see, he was looking much more majestic than he did when he first arrived at HART! Giving wildlife a second chance is certainly the best part of our work!

🦔 Mange is a common problem we see in the hedgehogs arriving in our care. This adult male is currently undergoing treatment for the condition. Mange is an infection of parasitic mites which burrow under the skin causing intense itching and pain. It is an awful condition but thankfully one that is treatable!

🐰 These rabbit kits were brought into HART after being found in the road. Unfortunately, one of their siblings passed away before arriving at HART but the remaining three have been doing really well and are now independent. Once at a suitable weight they will be released back to the wild!

🩷 Our team is currently preparing for this year’s orphan season! If you can help, please consider purchasing much needed items off our Amazon wishlist such as puppy milk formula and puppy pads. Every item donated would be very much appreciated!

🐦 This tiny dinosaur look alike is actually a young feral pigeon! Nicknamed Sheldon by our team, he was brought into HART after being found on the ground. He is too young to be out of the nest yet so is now being hand-reared by our team. When he arrived at HART, he was suffering with trichomonas and coccidia, both of which are infectious diseases that can be fatal if left untreated. You may also notice Sheldon is wearing some fancy footwear which is to help his feet grow correctly as when he was admitted he had very curly toes!

💙 If you would like to support our work rehabilitating British wildlife, please consider purchasing much needed items off our Amazon wishlist. Our team is currently preparing for this year’s orphan season so any items purchased would be greatly appreciated!

🦔 This lovely hedgehog has almost finished her treatment for internal parasites and will soon be returned back to the wild.

She came into HART after being found out during the day which is a very bad sign for hedgehogs and generally indicates they are unwell! The exception to this rule is pregnant and lactating females who will venture from their nest during hedgehog breeding season, April to September, in search of food and nesting material.

She was very underweight when she arrived at HART which was probably due to the huge burden of internal parasites she was suffering from!

🐥 This very tiny feral pigeon was admitted to HART after he was found on the ground. As you can see, he is incredibly young and would not have survived without intervention. On arrival to HART, he was in a critical condition. Incredibly cold, we carefully warmed him up in one of our incubators and gradually introduced him to tube feeding. He is certainly not out of the woods yet but we will do our very best for him! Please keep your fingers crossed!

🩷 Please help us to continue our work by voting for us to receive £5000 through Movement for Good. Today is the last day to vote and this money would really help us to rescue more wildlife!
