⏰ We’ve now changed to our Autumn/Winter opening hours which are 9am-5pm, 7 days a week.

If you find an injured wild animal outside of these hours, we have an out of hours number on our answer machine for wildlife emergencies or contact your nearest out of hours veterinary practice.

Thank you so much for all of your support during this year’s busy season. It’s greatly appreciated by our team, and we couldn’t do the work we do without you! ❤️🦔

🐰 This Leveret has had a rather difficult start to life! Originally picked up by a dog, she was then hand-reared by the finders for a few days before they contacted us for help. Despite doing so with the best intentions, this caused her a lot of problems and it was touch-and-go when she initially arrived at HART as to whether she would survive. She came into HART with matting around her neck and a nasty respiratory infection, likely aspiration pneumonia, which required intensive treatment. Please always call a wildlife rescue for advice when you find a sick, injured, or orphaned wild animal! Don’t delay in seeking help!

Please can you help us? Our UV lamp has finally broken beyond repair and we urgently need to buy a new one! 🐦
https://www.justgiving.com/campaign/uvlamp

We use our UV lamp every day for the prevention and treatment of metabolic bone disease in the young pigeons and doves in our care. Last year, we admitted 915 pigeons and doves so our lamp gets used a lot!

The young collared dove pictured was hand-reared by our team and hugely benefitted from time spent daily under our UV lamp.

Every donation helps so please share our fundraiser with family and friends! We really appreciate your support! ❤️

🐥 Our young Goldcrests were finally released today! They came into HART a few weeks ago after they were found on the ground as tiny chicks and they have since been hand-reared by our team. The Goldcrest is the smallest bird species native to the UK. The adults weigh on average only 5 grams!

❤️ If you’d like to support our work rehabilitating British wildlife, please consider donating items through our Amazon wishlist. We’re currently in need of Safe4 disinfectant, blue roll, and kitten biscuits for our hoglets. All donations are greatly appreciated!

🦔 This young male hedgehog was brought into HART after he was found wandering around a car park in Wi******er during the day. Weighing only 100 grams, he was much too small to be out on his own. He arrived at HART very lethargic but has made lots of improvement over the past week and now weighs 180 grams!

❤️ If you’d like to support our work rehabilitating hedgehogs, please consider donating items through our Amazon wishlist. We’re currently in need of Safe4 disinfectant, blue roll, and kitten biscuits for our hoglets. All donations are greatly appreciated!

🦉 We admitted this Barn Owl last week after he was found in the bottom of a wheelie bin. Having been in the bin for an unknown period of time, the finder brought him to HART for assessment. We’re pleased to say that after a week of supportive care he has finally moved out into one of our flight aviaries. We hope to have him back in the wild soon!

💙 We only have 5 days left until our fundraiser ends and we are only at 24% of our target. Please consider donating if you haven’t already! All the money raised goes towards our work rehabilitating wildlife like this beautiful Barn Owl.

🦉 This Tawny Owl came into HART after being found tangled in netting. With some quite severe injuries to her left wing (photo in the comments below), it has taken a few weeks of treatment for her to fully recover. As you can see from the photos, she is looking significantly better than she did on admission and was recently released back to the wild!

You can help wildlife in your garden by:
⭐️ Removing netting that is not essential
⭐️ Checking netting you have regularly for damage
⭐️ Putting netting (such as football nets) away when it is not in use

🐭 These three young field voles came into our centre last week after their nest was unfortunately disturbed at Boomtown Festival. They're being hand-reared by one of our wildlife carers Phoebe, and have just started to feed themselves. They've been aptly nicknamed by Bump, Grind, and Bass by our team!

We currently need Royal Canin Puppy Milk which is a milk replacement formula we use to feed many of the orphaned mammals who come into our care. If you can help, please consider purchasing a box off our Amazon wishlist. It would be very much appreciated!
