🐤 A more unusual reason for admission, this Jay was stuck in a sorting office! Rescued by our manager Robyn, he was brought back to the centre and found to have an injured leg. He’s now finished his treatment so he’ll be moved into one of our outdoor aviaries where he can build strength before being released back to the wild.

❤️ We’re currently in need of Safe4 disinfectant, bin bags and blue roll. If you are able to help us, please consider purchasing these items off our Amazon wishlist. We would be incredibly grateful!

🦔 We’re still admitting lots of hedgehogs! Please remember that if you see a hedgehog out during daylight hours then it’s very likely to be poorly and in need of help! If you do find a hedgehog out in the day then you can call our wildlife rescue centre for advice.

This young male was found out during the day and was admitted to HART with a heavy burden of internal parasites. We’re pleased to say he’s doing well and piling on the weight!

🦔 This young hedgehog was transferred to HART from a local veterinary practice. She was found out in the day suffering from ringworm as well as a nasty ear infection which she's currently receiving treatment for. Ringworm is a fungal skin infection and it's zoonotic which means it can be passed onto humans, so our staff and volunteers always wear PPE whilst working.

💙 We're currently in need of more small and medium nitrile gloves. If you can help, please consider purchasing some off our Amazon wishlist. We would really appreciate it!

🦔 These four hoglets were admitted to HART last week after they were discovered in a Bonfire. Luckily they were found and rescued before the Bonfire was lit otherwise it would have been a very different story! Please be mindful of hedgehogs when doing any kind of work in your garden!

The temporary coloured marks on their backs are to allow our staff to keep track of their individual progress and will be removed before they are released back to the wild.
