Completely secure, well kept, box of toys, fresh water, a bin and poo bags which was really nice to see!

Another session completed with Derek the Borzoi yesterday!

Derek was absolutely phenomenal and he blew me away yesterday with how well he managed the dog passes! We went to a pretty busy park, with lots of off lead dogs and the improvement in his barrier frustration is huge!

A few more sessions and I think Derek will be flying, doing dog passes super easily with no worry at all! He's a big lad, and he's very strong so we have to make sure that he can pass dogs when he is on lead without dragging his Mum over!

What a boy! ❤️

Lovely Nemanja the Cane Corso!

Yesterday evening concluded Nemanja's training package with KMDogs. He has been an absolute pleasure to work with!

This massive puppy is an absolute delight of a dog, genuinely such a sweetheart and I can see him growing into a lovely stable dog.

Nemanja's owners got in touch with me after they were experiencing some worrying behaviour around resource guarding and growling/ snapping when he wanted to be left alone.

After meeting with Nemanja, it became clear to me that a lot of his behaviour is nerve based and there is a lot of insecurity there. He is very noise sensitive and likes interactions to take place on his own terms.

We devised a plan going forward that focused on building relationships with all family members in the home. We outlined rules for all the humans to follow, making sure that Nemanja was given the space he was asking for. We worked on making all interactions positive using markers and food rewards and we went through protocols around safely managing resources; making it abundantly clear that no one should ever remove anything from him without offering something of higher value in return (trade games). We went through how important it is to advocate for their dog with other people and dogs, making sure all interactions with the outside world remain safe.

Probably the most important thing we helped Nemanja's family to understand is how to read his body language, so they could understand him better and be able to listen to him when he was communicating with them. Being able to read the dog in this situation is so important, as if earlier signs are ignored, there can be escalation in behaviour. This is a dog that finds pressure from eye contact extremely difficult so we also went through different rewarding games the family can do to help him with this.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the dog this boy grows into, his family have all the information they need now, and lots of different, fun things they can do with him to help him grow into a confident, happy dog.

Good luck guys, and well done for all the work you've put in so far 👊

Jude the dude! Did not want to look at the camera once today, but oh well, he's still a gorgeous lad!

We worked on some recall drills tonight and he absolutely SMASHED it! (Of course!) Mum and Dad have been working really hard on his recall and the improvement is amazing!

He is becoming much more neutral to other dogs every day and his confidence in new, noisy environments is improving a lot too! Such a cool kid he is 😎

Had an absolutely fantastic day yesterday with .cheshire! Super fun and informative day!

It's super important in my opinion for anyone that works in the canine industry to be first aid trained! This way you can rest assured that your furry best friend will be in the best hands if there is an emergency! I would always recommend that you take an in person course too, as it is so much more in-depth than it is online.

Dog first aid training isn't just for pet professionals, owners and handlers should look into it too! It's vital to know what to do if your dog was to ever need emergency care!

Had such a brilliant session this evening with Nikki at

Akio absolutely loved learning trail hunt and I cannot wait to see how we progress! I love how versatile of a dog he is, and he takes new things in his stride all the time.

I would recommend doing trail hunt to absolutely everyone, it is such a brilliant way to tire your dog out and help keep them fulfilled.

Now off to do our homework 🫡

Living with Azula: Day 6

DAY OFF!

I think it's really important to have rest days, not just for fosters but for my own dogs too!

Today all Azula has done is a teeny bit of marker and engagement work in the garden. For the rest of the day she slept and chilled out with us.

I suffer with Endometriosis so it is vital for me that my dogs don't get too used to a set routine, so I make sure that they don't expect to go out every single day. I try to give them at least one rest day a week, where we will do some lower level stuff be that training or enrichment and the rest of the week I always try to fill out their days with as many walks and training sessions as I can. Then when my endometriosis does flare up, I know that they will be perfectly happy not being worked.

I think this is even more important for a dog like Azula, she's been thrust into a new environment and she's had a relatively busy week, so she's having a well deserved rest day 💙

Living with Azula: Day 3

What a great day, it is safe to say that the boys and Azula are KNACKERED (So am I)!

Today was a meet up day with the dog people! I'm fairly certain that there were more than 10 dogs at the meet today and there was such a great variety of breeds to work around.

Azula smashed today, there is some barrier frustration there but it isn't bad in the slightest and will be a pretty simple fix. The next step is to charge up our reward marker so it means more to her and build some more engagement around triggers. She's a very social and lovely dog. She really enjoyed meeting everyone at the meet today and was very happy to receive some tasty treats from all the humans.

It's important at this stage to make sure she doesn't go over threshold, so I made sure to keep as much distance as possible and work up to getting closer. She was only out of the car for 10 minutes at a time, if that! Then she was put away to reset and have a sleep. Each time she came out of the car, she displayed less displacement and stress signals which was amazing to see.

We also got some great comments about how amazing her fur is looking and how great she smells now after her bath yesterday!

AND some of the guys have noticed she's putting weight on already which is such amazing news 💙

As I'm sure a lot of you guys are aware, I've taken a conscious effort recently to get myself involved in rescue.

Being a dog trainer is great and it is super rewarding but I personally feel so fulfilled knowing I can help dogs that don't have a chance.

This beautiful girl was due to be put to sleep TODAY, she's about a year old and she is genuinely one of the sweetest, kindest dogs I've ever met. She was due to die today because all the kennels and rescues are full to the brim, they are beyond capacity and they cannot take in any more dogs. I think people have this idea that if they just "dump" their dog that the dog will be fine.

Azula (what we have named her, it means Blue which symbolises peace and wisdom - I truly believe she will live up to this name) would have died today if I had taken in the puppy I was supposed to foster earlier in the week but was unfortunately put to sleep before I got him. Having her with me is such a bittersweet moment, I am so glad she's alive and thriving with us but I'm devastated that a puppy died so she could be here with us.

It's horrible out there at the moment guys, I didn't realise how horrible until recently.

Keep an eye out for some videos and updates of Azula and her journey with us until she finds her forever home 💙

The Belgian Malinois

Such a beautiful dog, agile and fierce. They are super smart, loyal and handler focused which is why you'll see them becoming more and more popular. As dog training and dog sports has become more popular on social media, so has highlighting just how cool this breed of dog is.

It's a cool breed I'm not going to lie, I absolutely love my Malinois and I'll probably always have Malinois from now on.

But.. there is a big but coming..

You have absolutely NO RIGHT getting this dog if you do not understand the breed, its needs and what they require. I see so many posts all the time about this subject and they always come with comments saying "oh mine loves living a pet life" and "mine just sleeps all day". Okay cool, you either got lucky or you're fulfilling your dogs needs. But making comments like that, feeds into people's delusions that they will be able to handle one of these dogs when the majority of owners just won't be able to.

Do you know what happens after that? I thought I knew, but today has been a real eye opener for me...

A 6 month old puppy was put to sleep today. I was two hours away from collecting the puppy and taking him as a foster before I got told not to come and then a few hours later I was informed that he had been put to sleep. Now, there are plenty of people I blame for this, the kennels being one of them.

But do you know who I blame the most? The horrible greedy breeders that bred this pup with no return to breeder contract AND the despicable person who got this poor puppy and had no idea what they were getting themselves into.

Honestly, we can do so much better than this if only we stopped for a moment and thought about the consequences. I know this will fall on deaf ears and I also know that I'm preaching to the choir with my followings but I just need to rant. I'm hurt, and I'm heartbroken that a poor 6 month old puppy spent his final moments in a noisy, terrifying place just wanting to be loved.

This is NOT okay, and it NEVER will be. I am promising myself right now, that I will never become numb to this, I will let myself cry and grieve over every loss like this because that puppy deserved better.

Find your people!

I honestly cannot stress enough how important it is to train around other like minded people especially if you're dealing with any sort of dog reactivity or aggression.

This is a photo of mine and my friends pups, these pups have been trained around each other since we first got them. They've interacted a couple of times but for the most part, they have been taught to pay attention to the handler and nothing else. They have also been trained around 10+ other dogs, all with owners that understand to keep their dogs under control.

I met my friend who owns the black shepherd a while ago while I was working through reactivity with my other dog Akio, and I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for the support of her and the others in the group.

Join groups on social media, reach out to people and find a brilliant group to train around. You will not regret it!

If you're really struggling, drop me a message. I have a link to a free discord group full of people just training their dogs ❤️

Just finished up a smashing training session with Derek the Borzoi and Rach his lovely owner!

Today we met up at Sale Water Park, and pushed big Derek a bit out of his comfort zone, while still taking care to keep him under threshold. Both Derek and Rach did a smashing job they dealt with off lead dogs like a pro!

Always a pleasure seeing these two! ❤️

On Saturday we had the pleasure of having our second behavioural 1-2-1 with the gorgeous Candy!

Candy's owners are my favourite kind of owners. They are the kind that book a trainer with no set plan and show a willingness to learn and grow for their dog. They wanted help with barking in the home, recall and overall obedience training.

Just like in life, sometimes plans change a little and between the behavioural assessment and Saturday, Candy had shown some reactive behaviour towards a neighbour's dog in the street.

Upon arrive on Saturday I had shown Candy's owner some handling techniques to help him when Candy becomes over threshold and reactive, and we worked through some play mechanics so we could help bring some positive associations to the table.

When Akio came out of the car, Candy did not bat an eyelid. She was absolutely phenomenal, playing with Dad and engaging on the training. We gave Candy some freedom to make good choices, and that's just what she did.

We ended the session with a little walk up the road and back with both dogs.

Keep an eye out for more updates on Candy! 🥰
